Well for me winter is around the corner and due to chest probs Im off the road till spring unless the weather picks up for a day or two so Im getting the bannana ready for spring,(XJR 1300) and out comes the trumpet for the big start again and hopefully a final go at finnishing it.

Nothings been done on the triumph since we moved into plug hall, as the place wanted restoring back to its original condition as the other owner let it go a bit.

So new shockers /wheels to rebuild, may do them myself ( used to build em years backwhen I was a machanic on the o'l trumpets c1965) then thats the frame finished and on with the engine, it was a runner but Im the type that has to know whats happened over the years to the inners its the sludge tube that bothers me in the crank, the sludge can set like concrete if left and could have to be drilled out or its seizure time n' a regrind n' big end shells..

Well what your goals for the winter months? unless your riding all weathers and washing down after every trip... perish the thought..brrrrrrrrrrr bloody cold out there..

Nick, thats awful m8-my heart bleeds......... swivel.gif

as for me, well the cruiser is my winter bike, the big zed is naked & shivering in the w/shop, awaiting paint.I miss the old bus & might put it back on the road when the paint dries.since the cruiser hasnt been washed this year i should strip it down & clean the poor thing, the mudguards both need blasting , welding & painting ,so while i'm about it i might as well paint that, & get the polishing mops out!

Tbh, i would love to have another bike so i could ride one and eff about tarting up the other one. Two probs are cash and Bea ( which are so overtly intertwined that i reckon i could say that Bea and cash are actually the SAME problem!).

Maybe when Luke's a bit older Iand my uber shed is built ( 25 feet long and ten feet wide!) ill be able to sort something. I really want to fix a bike up and get it painted and all that but only having one means it has to be on the road all the time really.

good luck with the das tinyrodent - its brilliant when you finally pass and get an extra letter on your driving licence!

Aye Nick, kiss my batty. bum.gif

Ii was out on the bike last night. I haven't been anywhere decent but the bike will only go off the road, when the snow arrives. Although I won't be riding on a regular basis and it won't be going to work. More like days snatched here and there.

the cb750f will be coming out to play very soon seeing as our poor likkle AX died a horrible death cry.gif and we are now carless, hopefully the pile of bits might be a whole bike by the weekend and cough n fart back into life fcrossed.gif
then all i got to do is stay on the heavy fecker asuming i manage to get it out of our rather compact skating ring of a garden, and the street that never thaws out until june! Oo1.gif

Well the plan was to get the K100 Beemer ratty streetfighter thing on the road for the winter so the CB900 could be wraped up and kept for the summer months.
After geting it to my mates workshop to get the engine sorted then up and ready for the MOT, i taxed it for 6 mumphs road it for one night then starter unit gave up the very next day. Yup, thats about right.

So i have had to borrow a rotor off my mates CB900 chop that happens to be on my drive, shhhh hopefuly he wont notice... wwww.gif Nah it wuz his idea, it is just till i get one sorted, might need to have a chatt DP.

The polished Ally is starting to powder already, ah well , best get a few tubes of autosol at the NEC on saterday,

There will be about 9 Petrolheads at the NEC on saturday. say hi if any one see's us.

The missus is now riding a mat black FZ600, i think it wuz ment to be glossy but the guy couldnt quite get there.... aw bless. Her RD350R streetfighter is in the back garden under a cover needing possible crank bearings... shhesh it never stops.

thanks plug ...................... I think ?

strange enough i will be picking up a zepher 550 next week & putting it in my back garden all covered up like.

What a bloody waste

but the bike i brought for SAndy ( mrs womble ) & we can't afford for her to take her DAS until after christmas & i can only ride one bike at a time.

I will take a few pics & put them up so you can see what a lovely looking bit of kit it is.

Would not mind one for myself but i not a great lover of chain drives so will give it a miss.

I`ll be out every day on something, got a nice, shiny fazer at the moment and not too keen on what I know about Yamaha`s and winter.Got other things to spend money on as well so constantly on the look-out for something cheap and cheerful,a couple of really nice cheapies on Ebay round my way lately.plan is to pick up something at "winter prices" and off-load the Fazer when the insurance runs out in April and the prices head upwards again. It`s in excellent condition, previous owner only did 1000 miles in 2 years, and I reckon the price will hold up well now you cant get new ones of that model.

Mine will be getting cleaned, and then a liberal dose of anti corrosion stuff, and then ridden whenever I get the craving grin.gif

But not in the snow! (But I might give the scooter a go in the snow if it gets deep enough to give me a softer landing!)
