My youngest son was admitted to ossy yesterday (pneumonia, some damage to lung) he'll survive, wink1.gif today I sneaked out of work to visit him a mile away. In the next bed to him was a nice young Irish lad who had been there for some weeks, doing a bit of road racing in the Emerald Isle, he crashed at over 170 miles an hour ooh2.gif and still here ooh2.gif doesn't remember much about it, not that he wants to. sniffle.gif

Some damage to his lungs also but thats some speed to walk away from innit?

Sorry to hear about your lad - how old is he? (not knowing if he's a child or young man) and how did he get pneumonia?

My youngest is 25 yrs of age, usually pretty fit, works hard on the docks for an animal feed company, he reckons it started out as flu, he was rough the other day, visited the docs who said it was

"okay, just a little infection, take these (antibiotics) you'll be fine" rolleyes.gif it got worse, he has all kinds of needles attached to him and had one entered in his back.

Thanks for yer thoughts tho' wink1.gif I had a dose of flu two years ago round the xmas time, should have had a few days off work but they needed me in, after New Years Day I had some time off but it got worse and I ended up being taken in.

So get it sorted right away folks, it could turn nasty, even for a fit person. wink1.gif

Wish your son a speedy recovery.

You're right, that guy's very lucky to be here after crashing at that speed! Hope he's out soon - a few weeks must seem like an eternity in hospital!

Damn right that, my best friend died of pneumonia at 23, doctors refused to home visit sayin it was just flu and by time called ambulance the next day was too late.

Wishin your son all the best, sure he'll be fine.

And the other bloke at 170mph? lucky beggar!
Opal
I appreciate yer good wishes wink1.gif they're draining his lungs as I speak lbhh.gif the rider had been in for three months ooh2.gif they air lifted him out by helicopter yesterday to somewhere else, I too wish him well. Think his name was Shane, believe he rode in TT races too.

The good thing for my lad is..his mum works on the same ward.
