I am currently building a BMW K100 streetfighter/rat thing, it has been running fine untill the day it was ment to be MOT'd. It started in the morning with a little choke, i blipped the throttle a tad and it died, now all i get is back fire, suck back and blow (... mmm remindes me of a film i once watched..), i have checked the spark, all good. i have removed the fuel injectors on the rail and there would apear to be a sequential flow and yet i still get nothing.

If one of the control units were faulty i would have thought that i would have either no spark, or interupted fuel delivery, neither seems to be the case, the engine has not been appart so i would have thought that engine timing would be unlikely. There is no side stand cut out and the clutch switch seems fine.

Any thoughts?

Gawd! not the idea one to have as a none runner Oo1.gif ! first things to check are the earth connecrions, take them off and clean them, spesh the ones from the loom, check the fuse connections
check the pickups are clean and free of rust, is it fresh fuel? if its been stood a long time change the fuel filter
have you removed the rev counter? a modern trend is to "map" the ignition system thro the rev counter

hope this is some help fcrossed.gif

Thanks for your thoughts Woodz. I have made some progress, i loaded the beemer on to my trailer and gave it to some one else to worry about, bit of a cop out i know, but it is a mate and local MAG member who has just started his own bike business called Morpheus motor cycle repairs in the bristol area (Plug Plug).

After a few hours he had it sorted, what was the problem? we still dont know, he poked and prodded stripped and cleaned and bingo... what a hero !

Now its MOT time so i can get to the Boring Old Fartz rally next weekend... WOOO HOOO Beeer...! How ever i would prefer to take my CB900 if i can get a rotor in time... fcrossed.gif

10 fuggin gears. wwww.gif Is there a switch on the handle bar that changes you onto a different front sprocket. ooh2.gif

I could be doing with that myself. I might stop me from trying to boot it up a gear, when I'm already in sixth. blush21.gif

5 High, 5 low, works out realy well, there is a rocker style leaver just above the gear selector, bit like a Hodna clunk gear changer. High ratio gives me more bottom end for round town and then up into high to just cruise like the wind,

Smuckin Fart tiss...!

Feck, I've never heard of that before.

I'll come out on a commuter/tourer one day and everybody will think its a new idea. ooh2.gif

That should read, high gives bottom end, low for cruseing.

It is a yank import, the real reason for the splitter box is coz they (Hodna) wanted to put a shaft drive onto the 900 lump, the only one they had at the time was the Goldwing, but the goldwings drive exits on the right, where as the Cb900 exits one the left.... (you all paying attention, I'll be asking questions later!).

So some clever short chap said "hi no, rets use ha spriter box that has imput on reft, hand howt put on right in to shaft", what a clever chap, they all thought. And so the CB900 Custom was born.

Then some little scrote in the land of eng decided that the high bars and space ship indicators were extremely bad taste and so on blah blah blah....!
