Peronally I dont like them, as I had them on my last two bikes (both FZR1000's), it's kind of putting me off my (poss) next bike....should I let it?

Why don't you like them? The one on my RF has done 50,000 miles with only fluid changes and a HEL hose repleacement - absolutely no trouble

My Ducati's done 12000 miles on a hydraulic clutch with no trouble whatsoever. It's due a fluid change now, and that's it. The cable on my Divvie clutch has been replaced twice in 33000 miles.

I don't have a problem with hydraulic clutches, so I'm curious to know why you don't like them.

I dont know if its down to the hydraulic clutch or not but I find the viffer has a very heavy clutch action, just holding it at a start and my hand is hurting. Every other bike I have tried has had a cable clutch and has been no where near as heavy on the hands. As I say dunno if thats down to it being hydraluic or just the viffers clutch but its the only critiscism I have
Roddas
I have a Hydraulic clutch on the Bandit 12,,

it is a bit heavy and tiring on slow traffic,,,, but so was the cable one on the B6

personally I prefer the hydraulic ones.... less adjusting eyebrow.gif

Yip, I can vouch for that....also the two Yams I had (FZRthou's) both went at the sprocket, I know it was just a seal, but it was a pita, s'pecially having two of them go. So between there heavyness in traffic and seals I really dont know if I'd want another.

With the blade being a cable, its no problem in traffic ect..

Had two Triumphs with hydraulics - didn't seem heavy to me. The RC30 is hydraulic - no heavier than the FireBlade, which is cable.

I s'pose it's really just down to the individual.

My first bike after passing my test was a 900 Trident with a hydraulic clutch and I was quite surprised at how light it seemed.

Conversely, I'm told that the clutch on a jota is pretty heavy, and I think they're cable. So I don't think there's a hard and fast rule.

Some people have told me that they reckon hydraulic clutches have less "feel" but I can't say I've noticed.
