most of my miles are touring/commuting and i mainly wear textiles

i was always told "real bikers wear their trousers over their boots"

is this the case ?

i wear a touring boot, goes half way up my shin.

whats your thoughts ???

In terms of protection, you should tuck your trousers into your boots- otherwise you risk them riding up while your skidding down the road.

But (with my kit at least) I have to wear my trousers over the top as my boots won't fasten otherwise.
Finn
waterproof textiles -> over boots otherwise I get boots filled with water
Mesh textiles/draggin -> depends how i'm feeling but probably under boots as it stop the leg flapping in the wind.

Leathers = inside the boots.

Textiles= over top of the boots

whatever/any trousers I wear inside my boots - boots cost £200 why would I hide them? lbhh.gif (so far this year nobody has seen my boots lbhh.gif )

Until it rains - then I wear them over my boots - otherwise the boots fill with water (exept my leathers of course cos they dinna fit over boots - so oversuit or trousers are applied in the rain)

Leathers definitely over boots.
In fact, any trousers over boots, especially when you have high boots.
This helps preserve weatherproofing and stops you walking around with 'Patton' syndrome.
It's not quite so pronounced with the close-cut trousers bikers tend to prefer, but it can look a bit silly.

Weirdly I've just bought my first pair of leather trousers and these are on the inside of me boots rather than previously where all my gear (textiles, draggin jeans) have been over the top.

Leather trousers rock, can't beleive the extra confidence they inspire.

Like Billy said too....deff inside them, there's no way I could get the leathers over them anyway as they zip tight to my leg plus there quite short eg to fit inside......so there tounge1.gif

Buncha bastids......

But yes, the cruiser type, rather than racey sort.
They are wide enough to fit over my clompy combat boots, so I do that for weather protection.

Then again, race leathers probably can go inside race boots, coz they all the ones I've seen seem to have this elasticated rain-skirt type thing at the top of the boot.
