well after about approx 13 letters to the DVLA and countless phone calls. They finally decided that they (CAN'T) find the registeration of my bike by the chasis or engine numbers...
only choice I have is reregister the vechile...
So I phoned the local Honda Dealer.... Can't help me...need to phone Honda UK
Phoned Honda Uk and they want me to write in and give them 25 quid! just to telll me what year the fecking thing is.
I got both the numbers. Which are both original and not tampered with...
anyone know how I can get hold of at least the year of my motorbike?
Isn't there any programs on the net which run a registration check or something?
or does anyone know anyone who can tell me what it is if I gavethe numbers out?
thanks...
Really need to sort this out. I need to MOT this bike asap.

Might be worth asking on the Honda Owners Club help site

I don't know how old your bike is but the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club have good contacts as does the mag/newspaper Old Bike Mart. Both have DVLA dating experts (That's dates for the bikes - not the riders!!!)

Do you have a VIN plate on the bike? The letters/numbers not only relate to the vehicle but the point of manufacture; the parts guy (John) at my local Honda dealership (Abingdon Honda 01235 550055) is reasonably knowledgeable on the CB250 (helped a mate out with his CB250RS which is a far more obscure model). May be worth giving a call to VOSA as the vehicle will have to be inspected as well.
If you have a reg palte then DVLA are quick on getting new docs to you but if you don't, they are hopeless (as you found).
