Hi,

Can anyone tell me how you would tell if a trike is road legal?

Is there a document it should have? Does it just have to have 3 wheels, brakes and a hulk between your legs? etc.

Also any ideas where you would go to insure a cut and shut or home built trike?

Thanks,

Welcome Norman_SK.

That is a very good question. I think that, just like a re~bult right off car or a kit car you have to have them worthy of a M ortaly O ffending T est and they are on a 'Q' plate.

Not sure but its a guess bigg boy...

I have found the answer (I think buttrock.gif ) and you are not far off.

How to register a rebuilt, radically altered vehicle and kit car, Components inspected during a single vehicle approval and Single vehicle approval test fees on the DVLA website.

Not sure how you would prove the front/side impact protection though?

Thanks all for your advice.
