Just wondering who is responsable and how liable are they for the maintenance..

Near my flat,,, there is a Road where there are many holes and it is constantly wet..

it is a side street , just of Uxbridge road for those that know London.. and it is my way to my Flat.

It is a One way street of the main one an dit has many holes, some large enough to easily make you come of the bike if you are not aware of it...
as you have to wait to turn and the pot holes are just at the beggining of the road..

I have informed Ealing Council, who responded on the 01st of Feb

but the problem is still there,,,,,

since I am aware of the problem I turn in from the main road,a nd slow down right soon after,,

but if you are new to the area,, you could easily have an accident...

it is a narrow road, with car parked both sides..

Just concerned for others Riders/cyclist and even Cars...

I have written to Ealing Council again,, but not sure how much can I push them.... as I am not sure what is their responsability in case it causes an accident.....

thanks in advance for any ideas........ bowdown.gif

you can always report bad roads to either MAG or BMF, both will take up the fight to have your bit of road sorted mate

I reported a pothole to Brighton council through this website the other week:
http://www.neighbourhoodfixit.com/

They fixed it within a week (it is on one of the main roads through Brighton, but had been there for months).
Wow
I reported my first pothole ever v recently, also in Brighton, the pothole was near Portslade and I reported it on the Council's website got an email back that Southern Water should have repaired it a week ago or something. Anyway it was repaired within a few days.

Finally after many emails complaining..

they fixed the bad ones last week and today I saw a Truck from the Council, plus some tarmac etc,,,,
so hopefully they will do a proper job now....

so sometimes you got to keep on complaining..... beer.gif

It's important to tell them, then they are legally liable (or rather, could more easily be proved to be so).

Not only is that about the only thing that motivates them to repair something off the beaten track, it may be the lifeline some poor soul needs if they get badly hurt.

Good on ya mate.
