Sitting here tonight feeling pretty sorry for myself! Got a loan of a mates bike an' went for a run with the better half! Was a great day, specially after snow being all gone from yesterday (YES snow in October). Dropped her at the house and went for a thrash. Dry t'mac, good roads then hit some leaves, lost it and ended up on a grass verge for about 50 yards before the brain kicked in.

Now I'm sitting here, bruised, hurt feelings, should have been thinking autumn an' was still in summer mode, back is knacked (well and truly) but thank god the bikes OK.

Should have been more aware!

Snow? in October? fecking hell GJ just where do you live? The north pole?
It's been chilly here but that's due to the north wind blowing, no signs of any snow yet though.

More of the same - Ah, yes back again, but just for a mo') GP. says keep myself "mobile", so I tried that for all of 3 minutes over the kiddlies cot(big hook in the roof), even hummed the tune (sounded like 'Old Mac' summat) Now what do doctor's know - make an appointment, go for your consultation! (Remember sore back syndrome/thread) an' come out with a 'script for: WELL YOU TELL ME FOR F**KS SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!

If your going to bike through the next 6 months - get the kit - I know it can be pricey, (forgive me Leon - OXFAM) Going from scratch:
1. Get the gear. eg.. Leathers, armour,wetproofs- sod the 1 piece/2 piece argument -get protection, an I don't mean the condom (although can come in handy if, (well sorry thats another thread....)
2. If second hand - inspect n' inspect again - 1 more time - just to be sure.....
3. Don't skrimp on the toe/ankle protectors! An' for F'ks sake ditch the trainers
4. Don't forget the Bike - Tyres (Nice full tread) - Brakes (1 at the back an'1 at the front - check), Oh aye how's the forks bouncing? Check the oil.
5. Gloves - for those with no hot air vents, near the grips (DO THEY WORK??? I don't think so!) Nice wee trick - you know petrol stations, get the freebie gloves from the deisel pumps - they work wonders under/over the hand leathers (I prefer them under - better grip)

Getting a bit sore now, so am going offline, Ima....Don't let circumstance dictate your protection....If you can buy the bike, then get the accessories first.....An' yes snow in October - near Ben Rinnes, Scottyland!!

And as a small word of warning - the camber of the road was all wrong.....

No excuses - Biker error was what did me!

Have to go...

Was a bit worried about that one too. Am pleased to say it's still well oiled with plenty of quantities of the 'amber necter' - Always have prefered "natural" remedies to the prescribed stuff, hic-cup.....

And seeing as you made sense of the thread, was as good as a second opinion to me (presumably yours is in good working order to laughcont.gif .

Cheers Zombie!
