Probably T.C. is the best for this one , My uncle hit a dog the other day and was knocked off his superdream, killed the mutt and smashed up the bike. Got the spares to fix so thats not a problem but he has broke his leg and this will cause him hassle with transport, kids and work.
The dogs owner did not have it on a lead so can he claim the owner or is it an unisured loss claim?

I believe the owner would be liable as the dog was not under proper control. Some household insurance covers public liability/third party cover but not sure how far this extends. If he has uninsured loss recovery with his insurance then he should contact them and they will give him all the info. (BTW uninsured loss refers to losses you make which are not covered by your own insurance not those not covered by someone elses if you see what I mean.)

Just had a thought, if they have pet insurance that may cover third party claims too so all may not be lost.

There was a case a while back ( couple of years?) where some twonk was wheelying at sixty in a thirty between lines of parked cars and hit a local residents un-Leaded dog - thats Leeded not Ledded - and even he succeeded in getting the dog owner done and then sueing.
Like TC rightly says though, if the geezer is brassic how long will it take to get the money?
Hope the leg recovers ok - bloody smarts that does!!

I just found out that Billy (Ging's uncle) had been injured today. Hope he's okay.
He's had bikes for years and a few big uns as far as I can remember. I've heard his leg is in a bit of a mess with pins and stuff.
Yes, the superdream name never really matched the bike. Although, I wouldn't mind one myself for running around on.

30 staples ,6 inch titanium plate and off work for at least 6 weeks.
I checked the dog owners address out and by the looks of it he wont have any insurance
Looks like he aint gonna get a penny!
