you cant take an A2 test on a 250.
you have to take it on a 125 & then once passed, you can ride any cc bike up to 33BHP.(or have any cc bike restricted to 33BHP).

dont know how old you are , but at 17 you take the A2 on a 125, ride a 33 bhp for 2 years then can go for what you like(ins generally restricts what you can ride at 19, but its feasable to be riding a busa for instance.)

instead of looking for another bike, get some training on a school 125 & use that for your test-works out far cheaper in the long run.
Mr Brownstone
Got the CG 125, and had a good amount of practice on it, including the 550.

Plan is...

Ride a 250 for a year then at 18 ride the kawasaki zephyr w/ restrictors.

I got the 125 to take the test just need a 250 to accualy use for a year.

Thanks for advice.

Why not just put the restrictors in the 550 straight away? Would cost less than buying and doing up another bike.
Mr Brownstone
900 pound a year TPFAT no thank you. lol

buy a 250 project = 300 quid

I know people who powder coat for me and cut any steel stuff i want for free.

parts = 150 quid

insurence = a darn lot less than 900.

I will be emigrating early may and have a CB250 RSA (1980, kick start - if you search for my posts you'll get some idea of the work it's already had done) which I need to be rid of late april (need it till then unfortunately).

I have offered to a friend of a friend, am waiting to hear back from them, otherwise it'll be going on here
