Hey there

Just wanting opinions from people about the Sym Husky 125, I'm close to buying one for commuting and from what I've heard its not the worst 'import' you can get hold of these days?

Also, I live in Sheffield and am desperately seeking a newish 125. Not too bothered if it's a cruiser, CBR, off-roader, tourer styles etc to replace my current 125 which is no longer up to the commuter job!?

Anyone got anything available?

Having had a Hongdou CG125 clone, I hope you realise that you're buying a disposable bike? These Chinese things devalue and degrade like nothing else I've ever seen - even a snowball lasts longer, in the height of summer! I'm being slightly flippant but, unless you really look after it (and it's a commuter, so you won't) you'll be looking for another one next year. Spend more and buy better - Japan and China may only be separated by a small sea but build quality is world's apart.

Hi, thanks for that. I have now decided not to go for it as I've been advised of the same by a couple of bike shops near me. In the running now are:

2nd hand Honda CBR125R & or new Suzuki GN125

2 completely different types of bikes, I like the look of the CBR more and heard good things about it (plus some bad things i.e too small etc) but the GN would be more practical and I could buy it new!

Difficult decision...

I wouldn't but a new bike- you'll take an almighty hit on the value drop.

Could you not buy a GN (or similar style) that's a couple of years old, you can then put the change left over towards some new kit or your tests smile1.gif
