We used to be great in this country at claiming speed records, but for a long long time the motorcycle land speed record has been in the hands of various Americans. They build Harleys and chops for going slow, shouldn't we get the record back. We've got the overall Land speed record with "Thrust SSC" and the diesel powered record with "JCB dieselmax", so how about the fastest bike?
Find out more here http://www.od-racing.co.uk/articles/landspeed.php and maybe we can put a team together.

Can you not just whack a ma-HU-ssive big engine/jet/rocket/turbine thingy on the back and power it that way?

It will only do it once and the guy won't survive... but it'll be the fastest ever.

Wouldn't work Woody - you have to do two runs and they take the average speed of the two.

I like your thinking, it may not be classified as a record, but it will certainly make the history books.
