my bandit 400 has a really bad habit of spraying road water up in the air and down the back of both me and if i have a pillion them too...

no i have waterproofs but not all my pillions do so can any of you suggest a way to reduce this spray?

i allready got a hugger ....
devilpaint
the huggers too short or you have junked the rear guard?

i cant see how its coming up like that if you had a decent guard/hugger

bike is totaly stock will endevor to get some pics sorted tomorow when i look into the other problems shes got...
devilpaint
its essentially the same as a bandit 6 yes?
i know someone who rides it all year around & hasnt had the problem.

stock tyres?
Anth
Is the Swingarm stock too? DP Gave me an idea

If someone thought that the Bandit6 and Bandit4 were the same dimentions, they could have replaced the 4's Swinger with a 600 version... but if the length is a bit off, it may have extended the wheelbase and forced the rear wheel to stick out by an inch or two.

Maybe?

Or your riding that slow, that you're going backwards.. lbhh.gif

I'd agree with DP about the hugger and rear guard. Unless it's to do with some dead air behind your body that sucking the air in. I've heard of something similar happening with fairing screens, that force more weight onto your wrists. Maybe something similar is happening, unless it's obviously rear spray.

strange.....

I used to have a naked B600 and never had a problem

but I had a Hugger and Fender Extender and stock rear mud-guard.....

Hope it helps................ buttrock.gif

My new bike is a 600 Bandit (faired). No problems and with the rain we have had here over the last couple of days i am sure it would have shown up!!

tires are brigestones, not sure the exact model numbers, but my mate uses the same tires and doesnt have the same problem. i dunno, it doesnt bother me really, as i have waterproofs, its more an issue for pillions so i guess they can just shell out on there own waterproofs or get wet
StevePJ
Yes, but it still shouldn't be doing it. Plus is water going up into the rear pod and possibly getting into the electrics there?

A bandit 400 is nothing like a bandit 600, its a completely different bike.

(this one in the picture has had the mudguard bit chopped it would seem)

Fit an extender to the rear mudguard mate. check european websites as the bike is an import here. hth.

god knows if anyone can see the picture but if you cant its here ...http://tom4.ifrance.com/tom4/400/special/hayashi_400_bandit2.jpg
