bikerdave
I enjoyed it, apart from nearly wiping myself out on Saturday. blush21.gif blush21.gif blush21.gif

That was my first ride in a biggish group and I don't like sitting at the front dictating the pace. Hopefully, it'll be a couple of days the next time and I'll even come with you for the over night stays. We might even get up by Fort William.
Mally

You see Mally, I like a nice bit of engineering. So if somebody has gone to all the trouble to create an excellent bridge. I think its right and proper, that us folk in the street should use it. Its a mark of respect like.

Me, lost .... pah and humbug.. blush21.gif

C'mon all, we know what the cagers are like in Eng...the South! We've got a few up here too, maybe relocated! what I (big I) want to know is where did you go? Have got the M74/come's nearly up to standard - I don't think - then A74, but what after that. Perchance (Ho!) did you go for the Cabrach? Best route in Scotland for two wheels and a few sets of breeks (official jargon).
bikerdave
We met at Milton, just after the Erskine Bridge, then headed for Tyndrum, via Inveraray and the A85. A quick stop at Tyndrum for the ice-cream and petrol then it was off to Bridge of Orchy.

On Sunday, we all met at Tyndrum, then headed up through Glen Coe. We even stopped where the visitor centre used to be before hitting the road again. We travelled down the A828 by Loch Linnhe, which looked as good as ever. This is after getting mixed up at Ballachulish and heading north. blush21.gif

Then Ging's bike decided to spring a leak , just before we crossed over Connel bridge. Well, it is Italian. wwww.gif swivel.gif All the jap bike never missed a beat. cool2.gif

We headed down past Loch Awe to Inveraray again and kept going till we reached Arrochar for a quick cup of tea/coffee. After a cuppa, it was back onto the A82 again, where we had to do some filtering because of traffic and one last stop, just after the Erskine bridge to say cheerio and hope to see you again and stuff.
Norrie sends his apologies for not being able to make it on Sunday but he hopes to meet you again some other time.

and then we went our seperate ways.

So GJ, you up for the next one.
bikerdave
I forgot....

We even seen a bloke wearing a kilt riding a harley. wwww.gif wwww.gif wwww.gif

I wonder if he went commando. It wouldn't have done much good, if he fell off but it would have been interesting, when he did some overtaking. How did he keep the fecker down. I mean the kilt by the way Oo1.gif No doubt the cold breeze would have had some affect on the old family jewels. wwww.gif

Ahhhhh! the west coast, count me in - just a sucker for an ice-cream (99 or a double nougat, can go twice as far)- how's about the Black Isle, Thurso, Tongue, Malaig will test those forks! Biceps, comfy seats (Ha) tent, either picnic or serious Carlsberg. What dreams are made of.....
bikerdave
GJ, you're on.

We'll hopefully be having a few more trips up here. We just need to try and make them last a bit longer. The more time we have, the more you guys get to see. There's still loads of roads to cover, don't know how many we'll be able to fit in this year but hopefully next year, we'll get in quite a few. buttrock.gif

Although, I've heard that this might be a good time to visit. Apparently all the midges will not be hungry for the next two weeks after gorging themselves on DP and Mally. wwww.gif

The fecker??? Down???? Well kept Scottish secret - Wrap the tartan (skirt with splodge's for those of you not in the ken, round the throttle (when you try to get off, the wheels go faster. Hence Scottish tradition of riding side saddle. Wet climate adds to thrills (the tartan shrinks a bit). Also, birth of saying "Come away ma wee jeordie". (Saw Newcastle before they stopped at Grantham) ((now there's a tale)). not to mention what it does to the ahem...undercarrage....

Midges? MIDGES?? What's a Visor without midges? 150 miles touring bonny scottyland, that clear visor takes on a distinct blueish/black hue, yet strangely enough remains road legal.....all thanks to the small and underated Scottish midge.
That satisfying feeling of going for an ice-cream and stretching as you step off the 125 (reminded your knuckles did work yesterday) and admire the colourful L plate, NOT to forget the pillions black be-speckeled grimace as they give you What For regarding the Volvo AT that junction 340 Km down the road (mines an import) the leathers snap, crackle n dare I say pop! an' the wee scottish beastie's (million's) fall to the ground in sublime reverence......Well I mean where else can you surpass Heaven, Karma, Veggie Hill.....Count me in for next year.

L plate, CBT, well sorry to the perfectionists but my lass is a bonny lass even with the be-speckled teeth.
There's something about the Scottish Midge.......

Severe allergies, minor strokes, anaphalactic reactions can visit my web site - http//www. getalife.com or talk to Steph re. life with GJ without L plates.......

Gj haven't a bloody clue what the hell you're talking about but it sounds a load of fun. Count me in for next year fellas and that's a deffo(if i ever get this 400 mill running that is)The firm can stick their italian trips up their erses.
I spent the whle of saturday looking at a Mimaki tx2000 printer.
I can now dismantle and reassemble it blindfold in 3 minutes ala navy seals,
and it'll fire laughcont.gif Sunday I went to look at murtoh heat presses much of the same dismantle, reassemble, learn how to use it.

Saturday night was spent in a pizzeria in Turin scoffing pizza and drinking Merlot. I like a fool ordrered a large one expecting something like the 12" ones you get at pizza hut, and this italian lady fetches me a dustbin lid with more topping on than pizza hut get through in a month.

Give the italians their due they certainly know how to make pizza, but then again seeing as how they invented it small wonder. bowdown.gif bowdown.gif

midges-all very well for tinting yer visor-but how do you guys train them to attack Geordie bikers on sight?-i can live with the little bastards stuck to my visor, leathers, fairing, boots etc-but when they swarm on you when you're trying to fasten soft luggage to the bike its totally unfair.we actually moved off down the road with everything just chucked on the bike-David jnr had the right idea-put his helmet on as we left our bunkhouse-the little sods still got in his lid.
Davie you did an excellent job-and i believe you about the bridge-it looked twice as good the 2nd time laughcont.gif
the pace was good-not that i looked at much scenery mind you-the little voice in my helmet said "dad, you watch the road-I'm looking at the beautiful Scottish countryside"-fair enough, jnr has a well developed sense of survival.
GJ, we came back down the M/A74 due to time considerations, thats the only reason-had to get David back for 7-ish.
next time i'm up i may come minus pillion, then bring Jen, then david again.
Fort William is on the cards & i think a Fri morning run up so we can spend more time up there is a deffo.
Cant wait. bowdown.gif

Years of practice, mate! Comin from Scottyland it's difficult to divulge the secret. Got this image of macho biker man - let the midges feast - and be damned. But (BUTT) an a nice one at that, Steph say's!! Oh what the hell - A quick dab of the Citronella under the plastic and midges move on to biker No.2. Smear it all over the leathers and they slide off a treat. We were going to bottle it two years ago as 'Away ya wee beastie' but never got around to it. One dab here, another one there, no midge'll come near.....not to mention the wife, mates, strangers, bike roles over (nice trick), an even the friendliest pouch (bikerdave) falls over an thanks heaven when you fill his/her bowl an' close the door. Come to think of it, works well in the pub too, clears a nice line to the frothy pulls an hey pal I,m not dutch Kinda...OOOooo. "Is that Citronella your wearing??????" or been doing something we don't want to know about???" (smells of lemon).
Anyway larkin aside, give it a try, Steph runs 5 miles daily (two feet) - yea I know, I'm the Scrouge an can't afford the petrol, how else is she going to get to work? Whatever, for the past six years and no midgy bites in all that time!!!!!!!!!!! come to think of it I remember words called, amorous, romantic, sexy, stretching the brain now....no it's gone....steph, STEPH let's play with the dabs............Ah that's better!!!! Oh Lordy!!! Gee's sinus'es feel better already!!!!!!!!!!!!
Greasy Joe
Devilpaint, gee's that watershed's a pig, hope David enjoyed the scenery, got a John myself and has been on (pillion) twelve years. Understand the M74/ A in place's JUST NOT TO OFTEN...whitehaven's interesting.....
bikerdave
GJ, where do you get your Citronella.

Sounds like its worth a bash.
Greasy Joe
The better half can supply at £62/wipeover, leathers only!. Or failing that check out your local health shop about a £5 but you won't get called Sir! Mr! or get invited on next fling.............
GING
Had a great weekend except for the minor breakdown, must come down south for a blast soon.
Great guys and enjoyed the pace.
devilpaint
so how much for a new hose then Ging?
re-mortgage, or fix the old one?
GING
Surprisingly only about £7,its actually going to cost more for the premixed coolant than the hose.
Usuall delay in delivery , been waiting since monday for it.
