Some lunatic today was giving us a bad name. He was riding along side a Ford KA and booting the side and eventually booted the wing mirror off. The lady driver looked petrified. Felt like chasing him and booting him off his bike.

Can we really blame the cagers disliking us when there are people like him around. Mind you we do the same when we call volvo and bmw drivers names, just because there are a few total idiots riding round in them.

I bet if you see the car pull out in front of him and nearly kill him you would slap him on the back.......... I would!
Just guessing though .... Devils advocate and all that...

knowing my luck it would be some nutter with a gun!
me, personally, i'd leave it as a near miss, swear and curse a bit, rather than escalate it into a war, bike v's car can be a messy outcome
if i ended up on the floor well that be different (assuming i can get up!

)

I must say there have been times when I have very much wanted to do that!
Like Nige though I just tend to let it go, shake my head at them and just try to put as much distance between me and them.

That would be the mature way of dealing with it but no matter how old some of us get we just can't seem to grow up

Thurs and Friday i had the joys of travelling on the M40 northbound in rush hour. The weather was appalling, heavy spray, greasy road surface and bugger all visibilty, but on both days i was overtaken by abikes that were weaving in and out of the traffic (and i was travelling at 70) no lights on.
With the spray the visibilty was severly reduced, and then we wonder why we have a bad reputation!
I wouldn't be so bothered if it was just themselves they were endangering, but its the others that would be involved i feel sorry for!

Exactly! I don't care if we get a bad reputation. Infact; i quite like the fact bikers are looked upon as rebels. In a way we are. Modern day cowboys as someone said on here recently.
She could have well deserved it.

Everybody makes mistakes... Maybe the person in the car made a mistake.. She should have swerved and knocked him off his bike or knocked him into the path of a car coming the other way... Why not.. Some idiot was kicking the side of the car, so he deserved it...
Have a word with yourselves...
We all have to share the road. At some point we will make a mistake. If you go down the road of dishing out our own form of retribution for every mistake, we go down a very dangerous path. It's road rage.. If we get rid of the drivers/riders who can't control themselves in a reasonable manner, we'll all be a lot better off.

Well first he was riding in my direction doing about 50 in 30 and 40 zones. He had a really old 80's bike rusted to fuke and dirt about an inch thick. He was wearing tan work boots a checked lumberjack shirt and jeans. His helmet looked as old as the bike. He even sped past a camera but becuase it pointed to the front of his bike it made no difference. He went round a round-a-bout came back the other way and was booting this car. I take it she did pull out in front or cut him up. I don't care what a driver does to you you should'nt put them in a position where they can go call the police. Then go and say this lunatic biker kicked my car and caused criminal damage for no reason. TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT.

I kind of agree and don't at the same time. It's a fact of life that some of these tw@ts see us and go "it's just a bike" and pull out or try and squeeze us if we're filtering so some of them really do deserve it, it's no worse than they'd do to us given half a chance. Years ago in Burton a mate of mine got rear ended at lights which weren't even green and got given serious verbal by the idiot driver. So, he took a big adjustable spanner from under his seat and beat the sh|t out of the guy's lights and just rode away. Some old lady even applauded! I had to go to the rozzers with him as a witness and the guy on the desk who was a bike cop said the guy deserved it and let him off (my mate, not the driver, he got a 6 month ban and fined for all expenses and compo cos he was apparently in the habit of cutting up bikers).
I'm not saying lets all ride around swinging chains at cars like Toe-cutter out Mad Max or anything but it's wise to be extra careful as some of these accidents aren't.
