1st time it got up to 70mph b4 it started vibrating
2nd time not much better
3rd time(i'm getting a bit sick by this time)about 100mph, at 120 its like riding a road drill.
back to tyre fitters
me"its still not right"
boss(owns a cbr 6) what speed does it start now?
me about 100mph
boss, well you're only supposed to do 70
me like i bought an effing zzr 1100 to go at 70? what about the other 5 gears?
boss right take it off(again) & we'll have another go-if its not right we'll order another tyre
me fair enough, good job i've got 2 bikes then isnt it.
4th time
me i need it for 12am cos i'm doing some high speed training
boss, cant guarantee that
me FFS, i'm starting to loose my patience-did i mention i'm a member of a bike club with 200+ local members?
boss, ok 12 it is
sends young fitter around to ask me to come & look at tyre on balancer, goes around tyre is balanced, but still rolls from top of spindle to bottom on one side .
me is your balancer the same as a bike specific one
boss yes-better, take it away , if its not rght we'll get it dynamically ballanced at another bike dealers(this means another day off the road)
guess what still no better
5th time, take wheel off (with a blindfold just to make it interesting) shoot up to Hunters for 9 am-pick it back up at 1pm back on the bike, change the pads, due to work cant get to shake it down til 7.30 tonite
up to 70 feels fine up to 80 feels fine(relief starts to register) gradually ramped it up to twice the speed limit + 10. back to the old icbm i used to have
moral? well dont do 150 on a dual carriageway obviously, but ALWAYS, ALWAYS get your tyres done by some bugger who KNOWS WHAT THEIR DOING.
