The last few time I have been out on my bike the ride was rank, I came back and said to my wife that my riding was getting worse rather than better. ooh2.gif

So today I cleaned my bike and checked the tyre pressure, The front was down to 10psi and the rear was 12psi.. Now this must have been due the heat as I checked them not so long ago.

The front should be 29psi and the rear 30psi, just goes to show that the tyre pressures make a big difference. eyebrow.gif

Thats amazing. I can feel the difference in the handling between 36 and 34 psi on the front. (ALthough the back isn't so noticeable)

I think a large bike like yours you may well feel the diffrence, with a 125 its not that obvious.

Chilli,

Let me explain, The tyres seemed okay to look at, I’m not a fool Iv been driving and working with engines and the like for over 23 yrs, I put the compressor on and tyre the gauge read 10/12 PSI but gauges can be very inaccurate, so I inflated too the correct pressure in conjunction with the manual.

all is well. lesson learnt.

BikerGran
You want to check them again next time you go out cos thats an awful lot of air to lose in short time. Is your bike left outside? Maybe someone let them down? Or else maybe you have punctures.

then you should know how important it is to check them before every ride then
congratulations beer.gif ...you have now joined my ignore list...bye

i dont check my tyre pressures very regularly, i do check my oil level, about every 4-6000miles when i change the oil, my bike dosn't burn a single drop, and any leak would be obvious on the ground under the bike! the only time i had to top up the coolant was when i removed the radiator to check the valve clearances, i spilt a little coolant that was left in the pipes after draining.

i suppose its because the bike is relatively new, i'll have to watch i dont get complacent.................
Gone2mars
I had a nail in my back tire not so long back... although i do check my tires, scotty, oil etc etc every week, i reckon i'd been riding at about 20psi on the back (i can't remember now, but it was low) without realising for at least a couple of days

I put it down to the fact that it was a slow leak and i was riding everyday... i swear to god tho, i didn't notice i had a flat Oo1.gif
