Full Version: Mirror mirror on my bike...

Well until a couple of days ago I didn't think there would be a huge difference between mirror fittings on bikes but now I know... For those of you who don't know the mirrors on a DNA look like frisbee's on chopsticks so I wanted to change em.
I took a shine to the lovely new carbon mirrors on the new Peugeot Speedfight 2 so I brought some to find the fitting goes through the handlebar and bolts underneath with a thin nut and bolt. My DNA has a thick bolt thread on the end of the mirror and a socket in the handlebars which is shallow so I needed to get a fitting for it.
I had a look around and found that the thread type is a "fine" type (which I'm told means the thread is a tighter wind than normal) so I had to get bold specially made for the mirrors but they're done and dusted now and looking damn good.
Will stick a before and after up on here with the guy's details who helped with the bolts for anyone who's interested in work he might be able to help with.

And so the journey of making my bike look sexy begins... buttrock.gif

I'd be interested in this. The connector on the vfr are a weird shape and the mirrors pretty short. They give you a great view of your elbows. I've often thought of changing them for something else but its getting something that will work with the wierd connection. If this guy can help out with adapters, he could come in very handy.

I'm going to have to buy new mirrors sooner or later because one of mine has a big crack in it. I'll probably have to replace both, so that I can get a matching pair, which is going to set me back £50 for the same crappy pair and more views of my elbows.

Stick it up and give us a look, BO. buttrock.gif

Yep Rick , I've seen those before. The problem is that the connector for the VFR750FJ is different from most others because it also works as a fairing bracket. So only a mirror design to work with the VFR can be used. So I'd to find some way of holding the fairing and using another type of mirror. It'd be easier to show with some pictures.

you could try a bolt on the fairing to the frame and then get a sepertae fairing mirror, depends how strong the fairing is i spose. verysad.gif
