What does everyone here like to listen to when they're riding? What really gets you in the mood? What makes you wanna open the throttle or cruise like a Low-Rider in Harlem?

I'm making a list of tracks I love to listen to when I'm riding and what they make me feel like but I'm just wondering if everyone's similar or not?

That is something I've never tried while riding. Its usually just the voices inside my head that I hear. blush21.gif Which is strange cos I always have the radio on in the cage. These days its usually a talk radio station cos my tape deck is crap.

I suppose my favourite tune while riding has got to be the vfr going through the rev range. wwww.gif

I'm with bd on this, don't listen to music on the bike.
when i'm in the cage, anything goes, somedays it'll be rock stuff, meatloaf ac/dc guns n roses other days i like some trance paul oakenfield, safri duo,
voodoo and serano just depends what mood i'm in. wwww.gif

but never, never listen to bat out of hell whilst riding a bike, it'd be the kiss of death.

I've just bought a new player for the car so anything thats loud and proud is good for me.

Love Dana International (Free), Celine Dion (I drove all night), Laze (stepping out) and especially Safrio Duo (Samba Adagio and the Bongo Song).

I like quieter stuff for night driving though Gladiator soundtrack, Beautiful South and blush21.gif Westlife blush21.gif

my cruiser has a non standard stainless LOUD zorst-wouldnt be able to hear anything music wise anyway. The ZZR has standard pipes & when used in anger(all the time really) the induction roar when the ram air kicks in is music enough to my ears.Fraid i'm of the old school-like to know whats going on around me & not be sidetracked by music in the background-1 accident in 28 years kinda holds that up for me-but hey you're young-you'll learn smile1.gif

no offence meant BTW bum.gif

Heya!

http://www.freehearingtest.com/hia_motorcy...yclefacts.shtml

I was under the impression that to reduce wind noise and reduce the chances of getting tinnitus one should block out any possible wind noise (especially with a face-up helmet like my own which sounds extremely loud).
I assume that wearing earplugs does this suitably however it blocks most outside sounds too.
Wearing earphones blocks out 80% of noise but instead of hearing the dull muted noise of traffic, you hear music of your choice at a suitable volume to be non-distracting.
I'd have thought that this would be preferable to someone (for example) riding a Ducati 998 V-Twin with Performance exhaust going down the road at 70MPH and having wind noise, engine noise, exhaust noise and traffic noise? sniffle.gif

No offense taken, I appreciate any comments and help as I'm still a "noob" grin.gif

i "usually" wear earplugs-they cut down the noise, but not to an extent that compromises safety-likewise i wont have a lid that is covered in vents-just makes it noisier.the flip front i use as an instructor is very noisy-but as i rarely get up to more than 50 mph for short periods i dont mind too much smile1.gif

Earplugs are designed in a way to cut down certain kinds of noise without compromising others.
I work in a textile mill where the racket is sometimes deafening earplugs are a legal requirement, same goes for using a pressuer washer you should wear ear plugs or defenders wherever possible.
we use some pretty good ones that cut out machine noise without affecting everyday sounds, say someone speaking to you.

Back on topic, sort of. I don't listem to anything but I do sing occasionally. blush21.gif Like the trip with DP and Mallyt o meet Ima. It was singing in the rain, if I remember correctly.

I like a bit of meatloaf's bat out of hell, Bat out of hell has got to be one of the all time greatest biking tunes but I have a wide and varied taste. eyebrow.gif It can be anything from Iron Maiden to the proclaimers. wwww.gif laughcont.gif

"I am a man who walks alone
And when I'm walking a dark road
At night or strolling through the park...

I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more"
