Well my first test did not go as planned as some of you may remeber. basically my battery was flat and i had to buy a brand new battery from halford early in the morning and make it to the test centre about 14 miles away before 10:30, well i was 9 minutes late and the fecker said i could'nt take the test.

Ok second attempt, same test centre, this time made it on time and actually got to sit the test. But the fecking examiner was some tight ass pr!ck and failed because he said i almost hit a car and had to swerve to miss it! till this day i still have no fecking idea what he was talking about Oo1.gif

Any way, third attempt. This time at a different test centre because i did not like the other pr!ck. Well when i got there the examiner looked over my bike and said; " son, your tax disc is out of date" and i was like WTF!? damn! i forgot to replace the tax disc with my new one which i had bought about two weeks before! well i could'nt sit the test even though i had actually paid the tax verysad.gif

Ok, now i'm really pissed. So forth attempt again at a different test centre. I PASSED! grin.gif i got four miners but the guy was really understanding and was a good guy. He let me off a major because i was doing 50 in a 30 road (oops) but he gave me the benefit of the doubt because i was'nt from the area. I was sooo happy he let me off, i could'nt stop thanking him grin.gif i'm pretty sure if it was the other examiner from the other test centre i first went to he would have failed me because he was just sooo picky the fecker. At least this guy gave me the benefit of the doubt and made my day! grin.gif grin.gif grin.gif WAHAAAY i'm officially a biker now!

p.s. - i may be selling my bike soon, or maybe not

Many years ago when I took my Group 1 HGV test (Articulated Lorry), the training school apologised beforehand because I had got an examiner who had failed 15 out of 15 drivers in the last few days.
So I though sod it, I stand no chance and drove like Patrick McGoohan in Hell Drivers throughout the test. The miserable examiner never said a word at the end of the test he just wrote out the pass certificate.

Congrats on the test. beer.gif

To be fair to the examiners, they have to make sure that you're safe. Most people will give their bikes a good going over before going for the test. Your machine has to be roadworthy. If you've neglected to put on your tax disk, he'll wonder what else has been neglected. If you had the tax in your pocket, it might have been a different matter.

All you have to do is ride safe for around 30 or 40 minutes. They don't have a lot of time to really form a decent opinion of your riding. If they pass you and you're really dodgy, you could end up a dead man because very few people will under take any further training.

Some people can fluke it and get through, which is why we end up with programmes like Britain's worst drivers... ooh2.gif Others struggle with tests because of nerves. The test isn't ideal but most examiners do a good job. There are bad apples though, just like everything else.

50mph in a 30 is a hell of a major to get let off with. ooh2.gif

i'm just glad its over, to tell you the truth i would not have even been doing 50 on the 30 road if i were just riding normally, its just that i have been done in the past for not 'progressing' fast enough so this time round i made sure i was moving at a decent pace, i just thaught the road was a national speed limit road, guess i missed the 30 sign somewhere. But the guy gave me the benefit of the doubt (thank god) otherwise if it was not a test i would probably not have even done 40 on that road.

@ Vaanen - its just one of the stock forum avatars, is this a problem? will he get angry at me or something? seriously, i really dont know.
Vaanen
oh right, well he has no rights over it really, just thought you may want to be distinct from other people, most bikers do..........

Congrats mate! beer.gif Like BD said, you were really lucky with the speeding bit, but maybe you were just due some good luck after those other attempts, eh?

On my third test, which I finally passed, my examiner told me I was within a second or so of failing because I did my u-turn juuuust quick enough to get around before a car coming down the street got to me. If I'd had the other tight-arris bloke (there are two in the local test centre) he'd have failed me for that I'm sure.

Safe riding! buttrock.gif

amen to that, i really did need that luck!
