my better half is going to be doing her CBT shortly and out of interest we took a mock test http://www.dsa.gov.uk/... i never realized what a P**s about it is now just to get on the road, when i was a lad wwww.gif you just had to NOT run some daft sod over who leaped out in front of ye with a clip board lol

she got 32 on the first and 33 on the next( she would of got 34 but i told her the wrong answer!)

we did the car one too, and failed!

<---- look even my dodaa sez i need 'L' plates mad1.gif
ima
Don't think i'd like to retake my test again.
Although i get the feeling i'm gonna get some "tuition" on the scotland blag.
Bring it on i'm tough sniffle.gif
bikerdave
32 on the first part, haven't tried the second one yet. mad1.gif

Some the question seem fairly straight forward but others seem a bit dodgy. Like what item will make you more visible during daylight. a white helmet, a black helmet, dipped beam headlights and dayglo gear. There seem to be constant arguments on some sites I visited on whether daytime headlights work or not.
NigeC
i do tend to ride with my headlamp on......but, it can easily look like ur flashing someone out if you hit a bump just at the wrong moment, its swings and roundabouts really.
best thing the law could do is make all cardriver ride a bike for a month, and maybe the world would be a safe place grin.gif
bikerdave
Yip, I'd agree with that. Although looking at the way some of the bloke ride the scooters. Six months might not be long enough. devil1.gif I don't usually bother with the headlight myself, unless I'm with another bike. I prefer sleath mode. cool2.gif

i like big n LOUD!! i think i was in artillery in a former life wwww.gif put PC Plod and fluffy animals don't seem to agree, but if the car driver didn't see you they sure did hear you, unless they had their "Drive" CD full blast verysad.gif

edit...funny tho i took the bike to get the exhaust wielded and no matter what i tryed would it hell be quiet!! i'm sure i had a big neon sign over me saying "pull me!!"
Suki
Car 1 test - 34
Car 2 test - 33

Bike 1 test - 33

pretty pleased. grin.gif
ima

you won't catch me crying into a beer glass cos i never drink when i'm riding saint2.gif
Nothing wrong with being thorough, i could do with taking a leaf out of that book in my work.

I'll take criticism from any person more experienced than myself bowdown.gif
Doesn't mean i have to like it though. devil1.gif

I'll be the first person to admit my riding is rusty I don't get the chance to go on long runs so i'm limited to short hops to and from my job.

However only 3 accidents in 20 years of riding/driving and never more than one sp30 on my licence at any given time must mean i'm doing something right?

I'm sure you mean

stealth mode

Got my mother and father in law to do this tonight a tbh the results were scary 24 and 26 respectively.

My father in law then proceeds to argue the toss over some of his wrong answers.
I fear for my life!! rolleyes.gif

woodz, you do know your better half cant ride the cbx 250 on a cbt dont you?
she wil have to pass the ful test, or if over 21, take the 125 test, then ride for 2 years b4 she can progress to a machine of over 33 bhp.
hth.
NigeC
yes i do kno, she is well over 21, and i'm working on the 125 idea....
shes wanting to do the direct access course when money allows, she was pondering on one of those learn in 4days things, has anyone done one of these and did you pass?
thanks devilpaint, oh by the way could you do Bagpuss? rolleyes.gif

Is that not akin to Muffing The Mule eyebrow.gif
bikerdave
I did one of them a few years back but I had ridden bikes for a while a few years earlier. I just didn't want to jump onto a 125 with my frame. blush21.gif Saying that, I was after a 125 trail bike to begin with.

The four day things are okay but a lot of people still fail, it depends how confident you are on the bike and previous experience really seems to help. Its training you to pass the test. So long as folk don't go out and jump straight onto something they can't handle, it seems to be okay. I'd recommend it.

:tounge: oh that sounds bad dunnit! i should read what i post lol
WHAT i should of sed was, can you paint Bagpuss onto my wifes motorcycle?

Bagpuss is a childrens cult(?!) TV thing, (which i've never seen honest!) she's got a mobile fone cover with it on, on the net somewhere she found a lid with our furry fluffy friend on so she wants it too, either that or its her way of stopping me using the bike!

i'm aready designing the bike in paint shop pro so i'll post whats shes after soon rolleyes.gif
devilpaint
I'm sure that between Ima & myself we can come up with something.
I dont usually "do" artwork as such, but lets have a looksee when you're ready.
queue ima with a sticker
ima
all depends what you're looking for. and what size roughly.
sounds like you need a printed sticker to me m8.
But don't tell suki cos she'll be wanting bagpuss for the cage. mad1.gif

NigeC
there is some logic behind her master plan...
A/ i won't want to ride it
B/it'll stand out in a crowd
C/it'll stand out so no one will nick it
D/i'll be out of the way fixin it up 4 her!

i'd would rather have winnie too nod.gif maybe next years bike lol
