cool2.gif How does this sound and can I have confirmation about who's coming n needsa bed for the night. then I will book it up n get money of you's l8r. Cheers Malcolm,

Bridge of orchy or summat like that. Thanks for your mail. We currently have spaces for your party of 5 on 30th August.

It is our policy that to reserve a bunk it must be paid for in advance. Our preferred method of payment is by card transaction.
You can email or telephone us with your credit / debit card details, along with ' valid from / issue number' and 'expiry dates. We will then process the transaction. Once the transaction has been confirmed then the bunk is reserved for your visit. The price is £9 per person inclusive of showers and all bed linen. (We do not permit the use of your own sleeping bags in the bunks).
Our telephone number is 01838 400 548. If we are not able to answer the phone then please leave a message containing your telephone number. We will always return calls.

Please note that the bunks are only reserved once we receive payment. If you require written confirmation of your booking, then please send a stamped addressed envelope.

Cancellations are non-refundable unless the bunk space is resold. We will then reimburse your payment less any transaction charges. Please therefore be certain that you require the bunk before booking.

You may be interested in our Sleeper Special Offer. For £26 we offer:
Bunk, including bed linen and showers
2 course evening meal with tea or coffee (starter and main course - vegetarian options available)
Full cooked or continental breakfast (vegetarian option available)
Generous packed lunch (sandwiches, crisps, fruit, chocolate bar, biscuits and juice)
Complimentary tea and coffee including flasks filled for the duration of your stay.

If you are interested in taking up the special offer, all we require at this stage is the £9 payment for the bunk, which then serves as your deposit. The balance may be paid on arrival.

If the Special Offer is taken up for 2 nights or more and you are walking the West Highland Way, we offer a FREE pick up and drop off service from locations such as Crianlarich and Kingshouse areas back to the Sleeper at Bridge of Orchy. This can result in a considerable saving on hotel bills whilst providing an excellent base with full board for a couple of nights. You can even leave your rucksack here to make the day's walking a bit easier for once !

About us...
The bunkhouse is the Bridge of Orchy Railway Station and the good news is that it is right on the West Highland Way. The station is a beautiful building which was built in 1894; the architecture being unique to stations on the West Highland Railway Line. The sleeping accommodation comprises of 2 unisex dormitories sleeping 9 and 6 persons with modern en-suite toilets and showers. The dormitories are extremely comfortable and all bunks have privacy curtains and reading lights. Please note we do not have any private rooms available.

Despite being a station with direct rail access to Glasgow, the location is extremely peaceful with stunning views from the bunkhouse to the mountains of Beinn Dorain and Beinn an Dothaidh. The licensed bunkhouse cafe serves breakfasts, packed lunches, snacks and full meals all day and accepts all major credit and debit cards. If you require vegetarian fayre, it helps us if you can let us know in advance as supplies around Bridge of Orchy are scarce ! If you haven't already visited our website, further information is available at: www.westhighlandwaysleeper.co.uk

We hope that you have a safe and enjoyable journey to Bridge of Orchy.

Regards,

Marion and Keith

My preference is for the sleepover special with all that grub. Talking to my next door neighbour n he rekons that the ferry lower down from gourock is the cheaper one although it drops you off bout a mile from dunoon. Bd. can you sort out ferry details or is it on a first come first drive on basis. Cheers Mally
bikerdave
Sort of, although the bikes always get on before the cars. So their shouldn't be any hassles. If we buy the tickets from the grocery store in Gourock, you get the tickets for about half price. Its £3.20 for rider and bike. So it won't break the bank. But you could miss out on the ferry and ride up past Loch Lomond. Then up through Crianlarich. That's a nice trip and you'll be ready to give your butt a rest by the time you get to Bridge of Orchy. That's a cracking road.
Mally
Yep thats fine by me, is it worth carrying on north on the sunday through glen coe then looping back down via oban - lochgilpead - invverarey or is the the b840 along the side of loch awe a worthwhile diversion b4 heading bck home. Cheers MAlly cool2.gif

b.d. were camping on site for 5 squid a unit per night.
going down early friday morn for a decent pitch.

thanks d.p.
im starting to do bespoke framing, making mirrors, photo frames, picture frames, stretching and framing oils etc. football shirts or what ever .
its what i do at work now, but some one else is pocketing the wedge while i do the graft!
my mother knows an artist who sells a lot of his work and he wanted somewhere he could get his work done professionaly, so she thought i could maybe get him a bit discount where i work. and i thought bolox, if hes regular
ill set up business and do it myself!
ill advertise in the papers etc. and ill eventually set up a web page which will list services and it will be plastered over the side of me van along with a contact number etc. itll only be part time to begin with, but who knows what may happen in the future. fingers crossed.

i may still have the bike, but im waiting for some equipment to come and ive got work waiting on hold, so as soon as i get set up ill need the van sharpish. ive also been working round the clock lately and havnt had a chance to repair that shocker, which is getting worse as the spring weakens due to no damping. so even if ive still got the bag, i dinit fancy bouncing all the way up there, its realy getting on my nerves now and fairly spoils the ride!

Dr. G

Do you happen to work with embroidery?
I have a rather special piece of work I did in Cross Stitch (took me ages!) and I would like it framed and mounted.

Any chance?? smile1.gif

Suki
dr.gonzo
no problem!
how quick dya want it done?
i could fetch samples to bike week and you could chose then and take it from there.
or if ya sent it up here i could frame it and bring it down to bike week.
what sort of frame and mount colours do ya have in mind?
i could take some pics of mouldings and mount colours then e.mail them to you.
Suki
Thanks Dr.G hearts.gif

The design size is 15" x 13" fabric size 21" x 18"

I was thinking of an oval mount in burgundy with an plain antique flat/distressed frame.(if that makes any sense!! blush21.gif )

Heres the pic anyway.

I can send it to you and I'm in no rush to have it done!! (took 4 years to sew the thing!! laughcont.gif )

If you need any more just ask!
Any Idea on a price?

hearts.gif

Suki
Suki
oops!!

Looks better in the flesh!! laughcont.gif
dr.gonzo
perfect sense, ive got just the frame in mind!
the price all depends on the moulding. some is surprisingly cheap but some can be expensive.

for that size your probably looking from 6 to 10 squid at the most. depending on the price of the moulding!. i can also put key holes in the mount if ya wanted to write something to go in underneath.
i can put fixings on so you can hang it or stand it up.
i can also frame it permanantley or pin it with flexi tabs so at a later date if ya wanted to change the mount, ya can easily do that. whatever ya wants.
ill p.m. ya with my address.
Suki

devilpaint

Its a pity you can't make it Ima. Maybe the next time.
ima
It's all up in the fecking air folks, the left hand doesn't know what the right hands doing but i'm gonna have to keep that weekend free just in case.

This is bloody typical of my firm always dropping things on me at the last minute. cry.gif veryangry.gif
GING
Have you guy got any sort of timetable sorted?
Mally
Timetable for Scot trip is as follows:- cool2.gif cool2.gif

Day 1. Set off 9.00am meet somewhere near glasgow at approx 12.30 - 1.00pm (bd to arrange where). Then you guys take over in terms off directions as long as our end destination is the Bridge of Orchy for rest, recuperation, summat to eat n a few drinks.
Day 2 Set off from bridge of orchy at approx 9.00 and head back via one of your decent routes. Hopefully if weather ok we could loop back via Glen Coe if you hink that is suitable.

Will print a few maps off this week n get them laminated at work in case we need to refer to them. I'm not a great planner of specific routes n times so long as u all end up at the same place. However, exchanging mobles my not be a bad idea so we can keep in communication.
DP, presume start times are ok, if u wish to set off earlier let me know.
Mally
Final call for accomadation requirements. So far we have 4 bunks and 3 definate Peeps - BigDP devil1.gif , little dp devil1.gif , Myself cool2.gif Is anybody interested in the last bunk which was ima's and do I need to try and book ne others? Cheers MAlly
bikerdave
I've got a route planned, which I will try and scan on Wednesday night. I think we'll meet up at the little chef in Dumbarton. You can't miss it and it doesn't take you off route. We'll head up over the military road, then over the washboard to Arrochar. If you want something to eat, there's a couple of stopping places on the way up. We'll also stop at Tyndrum, so that DP jnr can sample the ice cream. Okay, I'll have one as well. blush21.gif By the time you guys reach Dun fartin (Dumbarton) you'll probably have sore butts, so I'll try and make the breaks regular. The cafe at Arrochar does a great cup of tea, so we'll probably stop there before we head off to Tyndrum.
GING
Dave remember i wont have access to the board later in the week so give us a phone or a text to let me know what time were meeting.

I've taken Friday and Saturday night off this week. So I'll give you a call on Friday. We should have a good idea what the weather is going to be like by then.
