It is such a tragedy, tho don't know what really happened here! One down side to summer - the amount of bikers who will never again enjoy the thrill of two wheels verysad.gif

Unfortunately there'll always be more accidents in Summer, more vehicle on the road and everyone travels that bit faster and that bit closer.

The news didn't say much what happen...

or why there were 2 men in costody....???

agree with Fazer,,,,,, good weather more people on the road..........

more chances of something going wrong.......

The heat might affect the rider also,,,, as you might not feel it,,,, but one should drink plenty of water to keep the body in top condition......

To riding fast, lots of concentration,,wearing full gear,,,, you loose water fast.....
and that has an adverse effect on the body etc

Still very sad news.

My thoughts to their families...

In the past three odd weeks I have seen so many bikes I've never seen before coming out of teh woodwork. ALL are travelling above the speed limit, ALL are filtering up the Oxford Road in Reading (single lane semi-high street sort of thing), ALL are ridden by people whose idea of appropriate gear finishes at teh elbow and the knee and is branded with a Nike swish. Most will probably die in some horrible, messy way and my only thought seems to be "What a waste of a good bike".

I went on a 6 hour ride-out last weekend and I'm happy to say that, despite the blistering heat, every one of our riders wore full kit, from top to tail, as did most of the riders we passed.

It really makes me sad to see these summer riders blasting about like loons. They haven't ridden for at least six months and don't really treat it as anything more than a play-toy. They're like the Sunday Drivers of the bike world. It's gotta be partially their fault that everyone thinks bikes are so dangerous..... ?
