Full Version: Front forks?

Hey all!

My front forks seem to be giving me a bit of grief at the moment.
I first noticed it a few days ago but occasionally when I pull up to say a set of lights quite fast and brake the forks squidge down but stay slightly low, then a few seconds after they "ping" back to full entension.

There's also a transparent line of black just above where the forks sit in regular position so I'm thinking it may be to do with the seals?

Any suggestions?

Also if I need to get the work done (under warranty methinks!) I'm gonna ask 'em to upgrade the fork oil to something a little tougher as the forks are like sponges on my DNA. What's a good grade of oil for firm but not rigid front forks?

Cheeerss you lot, much appreciated!

Sounds like the fork seal, from the description of the black line.

Couldn't say about the fork oil. The shop might be a bit dodgy about changing the oil to a different type, if its still under warrenty. There's no harm in asking.
