Got the rear rack to-day ready for the hols in August, Yorkshire dales n' pub stop overs, anyone live in that neck o' the woods around Holmedale/ Ripon/?? any info on where to visit glady recieved..
dr.gonzo
if your in ripon area and want to chill out for the day, theres a camp site called sleningford watermill, its near light water valley. theres a canny river runs thru it, people go there to fish, swim and canoe. it was featured on 999(that emergency rescue program thingy) when someone in a canoe went over the wier in high water and got stuck.
theres usualy a rope swing on the far bank which kids swing off into the water. they also dive out the trees and theres a cliff you can jump off.
theres also a shop on site for snacks etc.
they normaly charge for visitors though. it used to be 50p but probably has gone up now.

theres also a cracking pub in ripon which does carvery on a sunday(the best ive had). cant remember the name, but i can give exact directions and a description if ya wanted them!

If your going ripon way try and blagg a trip to the black sheep brewery at masham, purveyors of as luck would have it not only black sheep bitter, but also theakstons old peculier.
(smacks lips and dashes off to the pub)
Thers's also a game park called studley royal, full of wild deer and the like, ripon cathedral, brimham rocks the list is endless.
