ZOMB!E
Now you're ready for the rummage.  This is the bit where you swear for half an hour whilst rummaging through all the crap in your conservatory/shed/garage for a suitable bit of metal.
once found simply find some existing bolt holes on the bike and proceed to the drilling phase.  This is where you swear for half an hour about the fact that you cant find an eight mill drill.  Then you find it and begin drilling holes in the metal plate you found in the rummage session.  Now bolt metal plate to the bike and offer up gearchange actuator.  Take a guess at wear the neutral position/max down/ max up positions are and bolt it to the ,metal plate.

So first you need to buy one of these systems - about £350-£400.
ZOMB!E
After you've done that you need to fit the handlebar switches and then sit on the floor with a fag and cup of tea  while dumbly staring at the gearchange arrangement trying to suss how to attach the actuator to it (meaty great solenoid like mama used to make).
ZOMB!E
Then you approach the bike having first subdued it with drugged petrol or suitably large stick and attach the wires.  12v live, 12v switched off ignition and negative earth usually off the frame.  Then suss where to hide the box.

Motorcycle Mechanics Magazine was never like this   :p

Now spend the next half hour swearing as you adjust the actuator mounting by half a mill here and there until it eventually works.  pronounce this the prototype fixing and plan to get Mick at work to make a nice looking metal plate, spray it black or mirror polish it and enjoy the rest of your life.  Well, enjoy the next four months until you buy another bike and have to do it all over again.
