Full Version: Build Quality

I've often pondered the question, as to why we put up with such terrible build quality with our bikes.

If like me, you ride all year round in all weathers, you'll know how easily, despite lavishing all the care in the world, it can look ten years old after one Winter.

I've gone the route of a hack for Winter to keep my pride and joy looking pristine, but consider this.

Our bikes can cost as much as a very decent family car.
How many car drivers would put up with having to use an alternative means of transport because their vehicles finish were not up to the ravishes of Winter driving ?

Fact is, they wouldn't, so why do we ?

Blazing hot summer day out there as far as I can tell. The MZ looks great all year round.

Good point; we shouldn't have to apply tonnes of protective stuff to keep our bikes looking good. We should just be able to hop on our bikes and ride off, without worrying about it rusting up as we go.

Not going to worry just yet though, it's only June!

So get one that's 15 years old to begin with!
