In the last few weeks I've lacked opportunities to really ride my bike, I don't feel inspired by cruising around and pootling behind cars through corners, however my luck changed today!

For the first time in god knows how long, my favourite road (Road from Hathern to Melton Mowbray) was bone dry and virtually empty except for a few cars which I encountered on the only straights on the route. I was able to make the most of the bike (Well, what I can do anyway!), leaning into corners and accelerating out of them, it was awesome!

Why isn't every day like this?!

Great feeling innit?! grin.gif I had a wee blast on wednesday night with a couple of my pals, out by the Carbeth, through Balloch and over the military road past Faslane and through Helensburgh. The road goes over the hills at the side of Loch Lomond so the views (if you feel like taking your eyes off the road.... blush21.gif ) are beautiful. The road is in really good nick and it's usually completely EMPTY. Sweeping bends and wide lanes with no loose gravel, tar banding, cameras, cagers or oil.

Mind you, I think they must put something in the asphalt which boils off in the sunshine and sends you a bit loopy, I find it manifests itself in involuntary spasms of the throttle hand..... honest officer..... blush21.gif lbhh.gif

Sye, nice to have the sun out - manged to have a blast or two around the Ochils, and even the ride into Falkirk was enjoyable

whoa, must be good if it made THAT ride enjoyable! laughcont.gif Kidding of course, the run from Reddingmuirhead to Coatbridge is good fun too. You get a brilliant view right across the valley if the weather is good, can see for miles.

Nice mate, looks like Loch Fyne? There's a belter of a road up there, need to keep an eye out for the nippies though, they're pretty strict about things there.

Can only manage wee short runs after work during the week, you busy on sunday (after the GP) though, thinking about heading out for a blat if the sun's out.

Yea, that's an awesome road, absolutely love it. I think I might take a spin up there next week sometime, just need to watch for the cops who were out in force last time I was on that route.

I took the twisties home from my friends yesterday! She lives in Clacton, I came past Bentley then left at the roundabout, through Bexley Heath? EB has mentioned several times that I go snails pace through there so I practiced, maybe next time I can keep up with him? lbhh.gif

BW and Pete, you should have let me know you were over this way. I would have met you at Arrochar for a coffee.

Well in that case, what's everyone up to on sunday?

I was going to head out for a wee blat after the GP but it looks like there's a few folks up for an entire day out. Probably start from the Carbeth or somewhere around there, head up to Inverary vis the Rest And Be Thankful, onto Oban, a lap or two of the Scotsburgring and home via Glencoe.

I'll post this in rideouts and meets too, anyone is more than welcome to come with us. grin.gif

I'm gutted, I am back down south this weekend and the car is returning with me on sunday night. Next time I bring the bike up I'll let you all know beforehand so we can meet up and play. Would be good to see you all again!
