took me 3 times not that, that's any consollation, bloody u-turns they should ban them, if you can ride a bike can't see why you can't use your feet to turn the bike. Yes I get on my high horse about this and it's only my opinion but it cost me a fortune learning to ride and I'm still crap at U-turns.
Don't tell me to have advance training cus I have.

gotta be hard mate and hard to everyone else dont take it personally, but the test is the test, its a base level of skill and if you cant do a u turn or deal with a junction then you dont deserve to pass. this isnt a pop at you and i sincerely hope you pass next time but you have nbeen so honest about your failing that i have huge respect for you. youll get it mate, keep the faith.
however, hondachick, if youve done advanced training and das how come you are crap at u turns ? puzzeld as to how an advanced motorcyclist cant be good at a basic skill excersise? the uturn is not about wether or not you can do a turn in the road its about how skillfull you are at low speed . it concentrates your skill on a tight turn, clutch control, brake control and target fixation. its a fundamental skill. It isnt difficult if done properly, its easy. you get round mini roundabouts turning right i presume? the uturn is no different really.

Yep the u turn is a bugger, but as Zombie says its to test clutch control balanced with brake and throttle, slow speed stuff. Dont know if they still do it but you used to have to push bike round too, and you had to mount and dismount bike without the side stand down, all part of being to handle the bike from the ground.
I would imagine using a confusing roundabout (as confusing as roundabouts go) like the one used in B2BM's test, is much to do with testing forward planning abilities, saying that, you can only plan as far ahead as the instructions given to you via the earpiece from examiner.
I know that B2BM had u turns nailed, and I know that he is a safe enough rider to nail the test, nerves and passed experience of the roundabout playing on his mind will not have helped, and I can admire the integrity of him by admitting his mistakes on this board, but more importantly, to himself. You will get it Mike, I KNOW you will!

Obviously I can do all of the above, trying to offer a little support here although I know nothing makes you feel better if you've failed a test!
A U turn is something I don't choose to do so I avoid having to do them! I have CBR 600F and choose not to drop it thanks.
4 days Advanced traning didn't include any kind of pad work it's open road and taught me how to read the road etc. However the riding school I was taught at got me to do U-turns in half the road, and yes on my third test it was a piece of P. It's just a confidence thing unfortunately you can't teach this!

Chin up, mate! You'll get it next time. I was really down in the dumps after failing the second test but in the long run it just made passing at the third attempt so much more blardy brilliant.
Got a lot of friendly support and advice from UKBF members and it really helped, so I'd say listen to the advice from the experienced bikers and instructors on here. Zomb!e will always give you the brutally honest truth - depend on that
Good luck!
