The trouble with anything like this, people tend to gain a false sense of security in that they believe that their safety is not compromised in the event of a spill.
Leathers and Cordura work because of the materials, the fit, and many other factors, where denim is denim and therefore by its very nature will not and cannot have the same structural strength.
So whilst the Kevlar may offer a degree of abrasion resistance around the extremities, the rest of the body still remains exposed once the denim has worn away leaving parts of the body exposed and vulnerable, and in the areas where the denim does remain in tact there is still the problem of severe abrasion and friction burns.
Personaly I would never waste my money on such garments having seen some of the injuries sustained by people wearing such items, but taking it to the other extreme and given the weather we have had recently, garments such as this are far more preferable to shorts, T shirts and sandalls.
But.. but... but... There's a picture of a man being dragged long behind a car wearing them so surely they're the best thing in da whole wide world eva???

"That's it Mr Obsidian, sit still... Only a little pin prick and you'll be all better..."
