any here ever put a shock in for reconditioning? its a well documented fact that mines well buggered its 250squid to buy a new one or its 85 to have mine repaired. obviously its a lot cheaper, but the question is are they as reliable?

theres a place called maxtons who are well respected, but expect to wait a bit as its still race season. i think hunters can get them done but i've no idea by who or how good they are. i take it you've already made enquiries, but basically they replace the spring & usually revalve the innards.

Have you thought about finding one second hand? you may find the cost is similar and you wont have to wait ??
spose it depends if its a gucci one or stock standard

nah! theres no way of telling the condition of a shock(well apart from the obvious leakage marks)but a new looking and performing shock could very well have only a short life left and then im back in the same boat again. mine was ok and it only took a few weeks to be non existent so im a bit reluctant to buy second hand. ive also fell lucky at work! the boss is off next week and ive got to take the van home and back in every day, so i can do without the bike for a while. so its an ideal time to send it away. i just hope its a quick turn around.
