i have a scratch on my lid visor any way of getting it out, its not deep but it gets on my nerves when riding distracting.

Don't think it would come out without making it worse. Why not just replace it.

These are quite good:

Yup I second that you would only make it worse...new visor time wink1.gif

Not worth the risk, get a new one. Use pledge polish on it which will put a protective film on it and help protect it from future scratches. Strange but true...

You could always polish the scratch out with Brasso and a soft cloth, work in a circular motion over the scratch and it will vanish, its not a quick job but it certainly gives good results.

thanks for advice

haven't tried but I've been told that jewellers paste does a good job.

i have heard that tip before, never tryed it myself though.

I also find Pledge is a good degreaser when washing your hands, if ever you get oil on your hands after fixing the bike & can't find the swarfega, squirt some pledge on your hands & rub your hands around a bit then rinse off.

I'd actually been told to use it because it helps the raindrops run off and so improved visibility.

Oh well, if any of thise things are true it's a simple and cheap win!

A replacement visor is how much? about 25 quid?
55 quid for a dark tinted one?
buy a new one M8, its going to cost you a lot more if you fall off while being distracted.
also pledge might be great at shifting water, but how many of you are CERTAIN its not degrading your helmet?
or are you all the dilligent types that remove the visor to clean it-i know i dont

I do hello.gif

Mind you, it's quite easy to do on a Syncrotec.

Inside of the helmet still ends up stinking of furniture polish for the next 40 miles out though.

there are some clips on the side of the lid you have to learn how to take the plastic with the scratches off.

then you take it to a shop same day get a new visa and put it on same day or from what i pick up (and it may just be me) you suffer from being blonde, or a few pence short of a note. You'll forget how to put the thing on and it will take a wk to remember how you took the thing off lbhh.gif rofl.gif

Or you think you put it on right, only to find you push it up comeing to the first set of traffic lights only to find it pings out one side and you sit on your bike wondering how best to deal with a helmet where the visor is flapping around like ladybird's broken wing.

... knowing that it's already too late to avoid looking incredibly stupid and giving the bored commuters something to giggle at.

Never happened to me. Not once. Anyone who tells you different was confused by the glare bouncing off their scratched visor.
