To the local bikemeet. The local rags have written about the bikemeet ( wednesday night in the beutiful village of great bently in the tendring district) describing us with terms like ' hordes' and 'swarms' of 'speed crazed bikers' with ' chains and black leather jackets' while we are 'destroying the village' and 'scaring people away from their homes'. Needless to say this is all sh!te.
Locals love us and we all behave. There is always a police presence and never any bother. So what happens if one busy body councillor happens to live in the village ( a recent move)?
Well on wednesday we'll find out but police sources have warned us of a major presence and total clampdown on everything from plates and pipes to unsocial behaviour. You know what'll happen. They'll harrass every fecker riding to the village.
We shall be tooled up with cameras both still and video and regrettably catch the police being used as a private army of the rich. Watch this space and hope it doesn't rain or the old bill will be there on their own!

How much of your coucil tax is spent policing your local town centre on friday nights? How much is spent policing something like bentley bikemeet? More than should I reckon considering the number of bikes is usually around a thousand with maybe fifteen hundred or more visitors to the village spending in the pub and two shops - I reckon they spend a fortune on lottery tickets alone!
No trouble - no fighting - no drunkeness - nothing. And yet the old bill will alllocate the kind of resources they could put into a burglary crackdwon with dawn raids and overtime and stuff. And us, the persecuted bikers of bentley bikemeet are helping to pay for it with our council tax contributions.
I am an antichrist, I am an anarchist...etc etc etc etc ...

its nice to see the local council representative abusing his/her powers-bastard.
what you want to do is buy a banger from the local auctions, park it up on their drive & set fire to it but not anytime near the bike meet oh & do the locals who love you know this person is abusing their powers?

Thats the amusing, maybe sad, bit of all this. Eb and I have asked numerous locals ( usually admiring the bikes with their kids) and have found no-one with any complaints at all. I wish i had my camera last week when the only two illegally parked bikes i saw ( in a junction - crossroads - blocking visibillity and restricting movement through the junction) were both police bikes. Interestingly one of the old bill had a dark visor - and i dont mean tinted! These blokes are good fellas though but i bet come wednesday night it will be stomp the antisocial biker scum night.
Bitch, the amount of money the essex air ambulance has raised thanks to us lot is huge with organised runs and general shake-box scrounging at the meet.
Makes my bood boil I can tell ya.
i like the police but they are there to uphold the law and not to persecute people because of a lifestyle choice ( hate that expression) - what next? Ban disabled people from the village because this bitch doesnt like the sight of drooling retards ( forgive me) or spaz's like me?

why not try to get ride, bike or mcn to do a piece, the wrong sort of press might make her boss take a bit of notice-might not, but it cant hurt can it?

tc may be able to answer this one. is there any law that can actually stop me and zombie going to a bike meet? if me and zombie were to go and park in the private car park of the pub is there anything they could do to stop us and could they arrest us if we refused to leave?.. surely were not breaching the peace or doing anything unlawful? we have every right to ride our bikes on the public road and providing we park in the pub carpark or park in a law abiding manner there nothing that can be done?
would there be a case for us to take the police to court for harrasment as could you imagine the uproar if the police did the same to an ethnic minority?
if the police were only stoping motorcylists and not a similar proportion of car drivers surely that would indicate they were "picking" on the bikers?

swarming horde of speed crazed biker scum recking the village and spending thousands of their filthy pounds on charity causes and local businesses - we could well do without that!

Any chance of getting a copy of the article and maybe a few pics of what actually happens. If you were reporters, I'd ask for some comments from the locals and stick them in the articles page.
