Since, DP, Mally and Ima are coming up here to ransack the place and also ask questions in southern softie polite accents. :p   laughcont.gif Where should we take them for a good run on the bike.

If you had one day to ride you're favourite roads up here, where would you go. Loch Eck is my favourite, then probably head up to Glen Coe, then Tyndrum for Ice cream.

Only one day to choose from so many roads  no.gif .

Assuming you're all coming up from the north east then A68 to get here not the A1!  The you want to try and stay somewhere near the top end of Loch Lomond as there are great roads in all directions from there and you can take a few of them on the way so flip a coin and take your pick.

Taking Whitley Bay as my starting point I'd be tempted to do this.

It takes in the A68, A84, A85, A86, A817, A814, A82 which gets you Oban, Glencoe, Arrochar, Crianlarich, Tyndrum, Loch Earn, Loch Tay, Loch Lomond (not necessarily in that order) all of which are great roads with plenty of biker friendly places.

Oh, and its 617 miles in total not allowing for detours caused by the SBs.  They've all been on these roads before though so you only need to give or take 50 miles  :laughcont:

DP, that means you can stay at the Drovers again.  :buttrock:

i'll stay at the drovers-but only in the chalets-we may be bringing the young uns with us
Imas daughter & my son, so we might need somewhere a bit more civilised & somewhere the kids will be on the same side of the road as us.(so they can keep an eye on us)

grin.gif  Think i got some details sorted. Dates r 30th n 31st August so need a b n b  for the 30th august. Ima comin up to the toon on friday n setting off early sat to head up north. stay overnight then head back.
Will let bd sort out the finer details ie, meeting points, overnight stops, petrol stops etc ,etc. No mad drinking session required, probs just a few jars to relax the saddle ar*e syndrome. Route above seems ok and would expect to do 1 - 10 on the Sat (sb detours accepted of course). Cheers Mally cool2.gif

I've got to try and find decent accomodation for you guys then.   Bugger, I better start looking.

Anybody got any suggestions on good places to stay.

I may even bring along my own son for the day trip.
