That'll be economy of scale.  Using genetic engineering that
guy Angus from Aberdeen is now breeding pigs the size of
cows.  (Actually not for the bacon, but he's got a bad back
from stooping)

Got u a gaff for the friday. My mate is away to barcelona but says ok for u 2 stay the nite. Cheers MAlly.
PS routes - BD>do you get the ferry to up by loch eck or ride round to it???
bikerdave
You can get the ferry across from McIlroy's point (beside Gourock) to Dunoon for less than the price of two dodgy pieces of service station cake but only if you buy the tickets from the local shops. The road runs up the shore of Loch Eck, then Loch long. Some of the views from the road as you pass Loch Eck are teriffic. There's also a nice stopping point with a couple of picnic tables. Its a nice place to take in the views and have a sandwich.

cool2.gif Off to the lakes this weekend to go through a few of the passes. We are stay at the Brotherswater inn which as bunkhouse accomadation for 10.75 or en-suite bunkhouse at 11.50. I think the en-suite means that your the nearest bed to the facilities. Well let you know what it is like when I get back. You can view  where it is situated by searching brotherswater on your browser. The weather looks excellent for the weekend. BD maybe you can find something similer come Aug. Cheers Mally
Roll on the weekend!! cool2.gif

Yip Mally, I'm keeping a lookout for good places. I saw one at Arrochar at the weekend. The only problem is that their guinness is stinking. I always judge a place by the quality of its guinness.
Mally
cool2.gif In that case we should be heading off to idea32.gif Dublin to sample the real black nectar. Until then the Bods will have to suffice . Cheers Mally

I'll hopefully find a place with plenty of time in hand. I don't often do B&B up here, so I don't really know how good the places are. Its taking a fair bit of research.

all being well and if it dosnt clash with olivers mount, count the gonz in! nod.gif

I've been asking around for accomodation and there's supposed to be some biker friendly places at Connel bridge (Not far from Oban) and Lochgilphead (Where they filmed part of Restless Natives). I will check them out and let you know what I think.

Dr.G, the more, the merrier.  :buttrock:

Dr G want me to bring a magnet to catch all the "falling off bolts n stuff" grin.gif
dr.gonzo
nah! bolts i can replace.
u got a pillow to catch the plastics?
im doing well at the minute, nothings fell off for a while!
i think ive covered everything.
the best/worse one was, due to a missing split pin the pin which holds the front left pads in place fell out.
i could hear a clicking coming from the front wheel but couldnt tie it down. it was raining so i pushed on home.
when i got home to have a good look, the clicking was the pads dropping out of the caliper and hitting the front disc connector thingies as they passed! ooh2.gif
the most expensive one so far was a rear footrest.
the most anoying one was, one me way to the hill, id lost the bolt from me exhaust bracket, which had a spanking new micron bashing itself off the hanger, luckily most of the scrapes buffed out.
i lost a number plate on me way for its m.o.t., it was badly positioned, i hit a speed bump and the back wheel obliterated it.

near misses include:- rear seat, full footpeg and back brake assembly, numerous fairing fasteners and due to a dodgy shocker ME! i hit  a bump in the road, which you wouldnt notice was there if ya stuck to the speed limits, i was over taking a line of cars and as i passed the last one, i hit this slight hump in the road. god knows what the bloke in the car must of thought. i must of passed his window about a foot off the seat wwww.gif ahhh nevermind ehh,not to worry sniffle.gif

The Trentham Inn up @ Dornoch is biker friendly if you're still looking for accom. (Its on the A9, you will miss it, but you can turn around and try again!!!)
No idea what the guiness is like, but the owner's bonkers, has piccies of bikes in his bar (no, the bikes are present and the photographic evidence is of them IN the bar) and he (Jonny)wears a goonie if you need breakfast b4 9am.

devil1.gif Me thinks this place is beyond Inverness which throws us across the east side of Scotland rather than the West and would be stiff ass ooh2.gif bendy legs territory for a days ride. Cheers Mally

Always a good one for future reference, when there's hopefully more time to play with. Dornoch on the bike would be a great trip. Some lovely roads up that way and cracking scenery. It would be a nice stop as part of a three day trip. idea32.gif
