Im 17 and about to do my test but will be limited to 33bhp. I was thinking of a 250 cruiser but i think there too big and heavy and underpowered, i want something with a bit more go.
Would it be better to get a 250 like a hyosung comet gt250 which has 27.5bhp and keep it stock.
Or
Buy a Honda Hornet 250 which has 40bhp and get a 33bhp restrictor kit for it?????????
I have heard a lot about people buying 600's and restricting them but surely reducing the power so much will make them slow compared to 250's with the same power, because they weigh alot more and they can't be nice to ride???????
Any one got any bikes that they would reccomend for someone in my position. I don't want a 125 or a 2 stroke bike!
Thank you

Restricting a 400 is a good bet and easy to do.
Take a look at this list
http://www.batmotorcycles.co.uk/33bhp.aspAnd then see the actual bikes here

Depends if your worried about cost and insurance.
You'll have to pay full even if its resricted as they tend to go on cc regardless of bhp (i heard so i may be wrong lol) Also a 600 would be more expensive in the short run, but not in the long as youd be able to have a good sized bike after your two years is up.
Personally i think im gonna go for something in the line of a 250 hornet. (thats if i can raise money to take test this summer and raise money for said hornet)

A restricted 600 will still propell you to over 100 m.p.h. and that's a slow one like a Bandit or Fazer. There are many threads on this topic so I would suggest you have a look though the forums. You'll find a lot of good advice there.

Look thru these threads for some ideas
herehereand hereThere's loads more - just stick restricted in the search option at the top of the page... I would do more, but I feel sick and I haven't had a coffee yet

HTH and good luck, whatever you choose

well lets just say, my diversions comfy, it has a 600cc engine for after 2 years so i dont have to buy a new bike, plus it has the abbility to tour on it, and an armchair for a pillion, id buy it again if i was to buy another first 'big bike'
