GING
Me and two mates went out for a run today and we went on a road near Loch Lomond that used to be a m.o.d missile transport road , so its long wide and sweeping.
But because we had heard a story about a biker being done for 150mph by a vascar helicopter and we were not sure if we had seen markings(which in the end there wasnt) we were going to take it easy.
So i took the lead and could see my mate behind me getting impatient (i was sitting about 80mph) he overtook me and as he did spotted the cops with the radar gun.
We carried on for about half a mile after slowing down then pulled over, me at the front before the cop car could see us.
The cops pull in and come straight to me and ask for documents and put me in the car where they asked what speed i was doing and of course i say about 85 at this point he shows me the gun with a reading of 113mph,he was saying i was the one overtaking , after regaining control of my sphinkter i pointed out his mistake he then told me he could do me for racing to which i said my mate was only overtaking so he gives me a lecture then lets me off with a warning, and he did the same to my mate. sniffle.gif  bowdown.gif
They seemed like good guys but i recon one of us didnt get charged because we both passed through the radar at the same time, i rode the rest of the day ssslllooowwllyy.
Thats me had my yellow card, dont fancy the red one ooh2.gif

I'm surprised that he didn't chuck you out of the cop car because of the smell of sh!t from your shoe. Cos you definately stepped in one.

Where abouts were they parked. I'll need to look out for that one. I've been over there more times than I can count and not taking it easy either.  Oo1.gif I've passed cop cars going the other way but never been stopped by one.

For those darn sarf, here's the road Al is talking about.

This is the view, heading back to Loch Lomond.

Well hell you couldn't help but let fly on that could ya?

No Ima, Some old lady might be crossing the road and the nasty biker would kill her.  :Oo:

You can get mugged in the street and that is okay but go for a blast on your bike miles from anywhere and up here, (we've got plenty of miles from anywhere) and people will sleep safe in their bed at night, knowing that us major crims have been thoroughly dealt with.  :O  :verysad:

Bd That looks strikingly similar to some of the stuff i rode on,
on my way to meet you guys on sunday.
Long sweping bends with one or two blind summits just to keep you on yer toes.
Ton of fun when it's dry, not so much fun when the rain is lashing down and you can't see more than 6 feet in front of you.
north yorkshire moors summers gotta love em. laughcont.gif  :laughcont:

Is that the Glen Fruin road that links the A82 to the A814 (Helensburgh to Arrochar)? If so, that's the road I was looking for on Sunday morning. I guess there's also the Glen Douglas road - is that it?

Spud the ever so slightly directionally challenged & confuzzled.

Don't worry Spud... I set off for a ride along the A4 to then turn right toward the coast and back home again on Sunday... 280 miles later I'd done Malmesbury, Oxford and Newbury blush21.gif

Spud, thats the road, the A817 if I remember its proper name. If you want to turn on it, just follow the A82, the turn left at the Loch Lomond golf club. Ya can't miss it.  :buttrock:

Have you ever been on a ride with the SBs?  At least this time we were all lost together.  It has been known for four of us to head off in three different directions at the first roundabout we come to having just discussed where we were going!    :laughcont:

Dave,
Thanks for that. That'll be the one. I think it's signposted for Gairlochead, (spelling?) and that's not what I expected. I know where you mean though. It all adds to the adventure ... at least it gave the sheep something to talk about - oops, shouldn't have mentioned that.
