Ok i've been going mad trying to get my head round what is going to be the best first big bike for me. I've lost count of the times I've asked for advice on this forum about what would be a good choice. So after much thought i have gone for the easy option. Cheap insurance, tax and not going to be a hand full(well I hope not) VFR400R NC24 is my bike of choice what do you guy/girls think of this.
I have had trouble getting on to the site in the last week.
Ok i tryed to put a pic on to show you all but it aint working. Any ideas how i can get the pic on....!!

My mate has an nc24 and she loves it.....so have fun and do it safe mate.
i find the best way to post pic's is to use an image host.....either image cabin, or file lodge if you want to show video or play music, Both are pretty easy to use.....log on to either...upload the pic you want to show....and copy the url code
Open your thread ....and then click on the IMG box in the code button section..
enter the url code in the place provided ...just right click in the space and paste the url code....and heypresto......bob is indeed your mother's brother.....hth

I used to have an NC-24. Was my first "Big" bike and I had a hoot on it. capable of 125-130mph ish and I thought it handled ok.

Tyre wear is nonexistant olmost as its pretty light and comparitively low powered. Servicing was ok cost wise, can't remember exactly but i did the minor servicing myself.
Mine had problems with its reserve tank not working and no amount of tinkering fixed it.
The front forks are soft and have an anti-dive mechanism when breaking which I have no idea if it worked.
If its been decked then the rear footpeg carrier can pierce the exhaust can.
Mine ate batteries monthly! Had a regulater problem which fried the juice.

I also heard that once the down-pipes go the engine needs to be dropped out of the frame to replace them so could be an expensive job.

These days spares should be ok if slightly more expensive than a uk bike equivelant.
They really are fun bikes, I hope this hasnt put you off. Lust buy the best condition that you can afford and watch out for crash damage.

Oh don't buy this bike: E539BGN. Was my old one and if its still alive it shouldnt be! lol.

Thanks for the info guys. With it only being a small 400 and me being 6ft4 do u think it might start to cripple my back after long rides out!
