WE and yes I did say WE!! .....we have been looking at ............................BIKES................................................to-day.

I have been TOLD from a good source..ITS time you had a modern bike so we called in at our local o'l shop'e and not wanting a missile again I was looking at a BANDIT 1200,  not knowing to much about the UKI'S and being a honda type person can anyone give me any good/bad points or any info relating to servicing n' the likes of.

I never thought I'd see the day. that you would be riding around on a classic.  :O Don't know much about the bandit 1200 but from what I remember, they're supposed to be bullet proof and have a good reputation. But I'm no expert.  :blush:

No disrespect old bean, but aren't they a bit of a hooligan tool for a genteel old duffer and no-doubt TOG like your goodself? They are extremely economical on front tyres if you're in the habit of carrying a passenger, if'n you get my drift    

You should be ok if it's a bezzy one, but some of them - 2001 I think but check with SUKBOG - had the oil holes behind the rings drilled too big, and they smoke like a smokey thing that's really smokey, and has then had some wet leaves tipped on it to make it smoke even more. Avoid one that shows the slightest sign of a merest whiff of a hint of condensed combusted hydro-carbons

Ya see's Im not wanting to have to reach over the tank anymore due to age n' things and have I got some things .

I was looking for a sit up n' beg type thing with straight bars but reliable.

In all honesty me days are over for *rse up head down blip n gone all I want is to tour about and get from A ta B............................

I can't find some thing for a SHORT legged bike god that will not lie down and think of coco n' pipes.

It was a nice 1200 but Im still looking as time is on my side as the song goes and Im only making enquieries at the mo till I now for sure what I want.

the B12 is apparently a good bike.  The fact that so many of them have been sold speaks for itself.  i have never met an owner who's slagged them and the parts market is huge.

imagine how fast you'll get to the post office now  - you'll be the talk of the pension queue you lod reprobate.

you can disable the limiter on the 12,s to get full revs by cutting the wire to it!

its either white or yellow, i cant remember which, its under the seat anyway.

Dont cut the yellow one.  If you do you will set off a small charge and be showered by green paint from behind the left hand side panel.
