Whats the best thing you've bought at a great price?
I recently won from ebay the items in the picture.

They are a Frank thomas aqua strike suit, Frank thomas jacket, cargo back pack and a targa water proof overall. All were won in an auction for £62 inc P+P except for the frank thomas jacket which was won for £24 inc P+P

Hmm now I just need some matching blue boots

Pair of Oxtar Goretex boots unused for £5.00 + postage on ebay. They were advertised as "star" brand, hence the lack of interest.

This is also a kind of message to those who don't wear protective gear. It doesn't have to be expensive and it doesn't have to be new. None of what I bought was new but is very good condition. I had an accident earlier this year in which I broke my wrist. If it han't been for my gear it would have been with a lot of cuts and road rash. Im so glad I had proper gloves

I bought an untidy Jawa 350 as a get to work bike for £90 several years ago and was well chuffed with it. It got better still when I bought another one as a non runner and loads of spares for £50,fixed it in moments, and made two good bikes out of the bits, I sold one and kept the other. A friend eventually bought it off me for £50 quid and used it everyday for a few years without any problems.
I started buying non runners for next to nothing and they would nearly always have a really minor fault that could be fixed in a few minutes and I'd sell them on cheaply.
I've also done the opposite and thought I was getting a bargain only to buy a moneypit.

My first set of gear (ie when first learning, doing CBT test etc) was all hodgepodge stuff the cheapest I could find.
The leather jacket was a "seconds", the leather on part of the arm was a bit weird, looked like it had been folded over slightly while being tanned or something, like a small triangle of suade. Other than that it was perfectly fine though and cheap.
Boots were second hand from a card on the supermarket noticeboard, frank thomas waterproof ones that happened to exactly fit.
summer gloves were no-named (rhino?) carbon fiber armoured out of a "bargain bucket" at an NEC a few years ago - they are still the best fitting gloves I have ever found and my favorites for hot weather.
The only "full price" gear I had was the helmet and leather jeans.
Just a damned shame that none of it fits me anymore except the gloves and the helmet helmet was too old to be truly safe so the only bits I can(and do) still wear is the gloves!

I'm about to start building a 'fighter and I managed to get a GSXR750 frame for £25 with an interesting registration plate. Might even see if I can sell the plate.
I also just got a set of 750 barrels and pistons to squeeze in my Bandit for the princely sum of £8.99. Last time I bought the wrong pistons for £3 and sold them for £15...

If I'd got from a Suzi dealer, it'd cost £600 + drat!!!!

Not a bike buy, but my best eBay bargain was a set of mint BMW coupe bumpers (yes, I know...

) for the grand sum of 99 pence
I did, however, have to drive from London to Yorkshire, but saw some rellies whilst I was up there so made it worthwhile. The guy was selling them for a mate, and wouldn't even take the money (I'd have let him keep the change, too

)

I think I got one today!!
Went to Pro-bikes to get my new tyre fitted and to buy oil and a filter..
While I was in there I saw this quite nice bum bag, which I wanted to buy one for ages to take the mobile, fags, etc with me.
The bum bag is really cool, is all black, says Yamaha on the sides and has a log on the front with YZF Series….I looked at that and thought..from yamaha..I'll have to pay the brand probably would be near the 30quid…
So, just out of curiosity I asked..how much is this?
He went through the computer….10quid!
For sure he got the price wrong….I saw one in Halfords and was 14quid...

My scooter!
Aprilia Habana, 2000 X reg, 50cc, 1200Km on the clock in A1 condition for £550 on Ebay. To top it off I also found a man with a van travelling to the same place the bike was on the same day I was due to collect. Only had to pay £30 to get it shipped the 150miles home!
I'm constantly adding parts and I'll soon have a photo of it as my avatar. My only worry is that one day I'll want to swap it for a 125 of the same type... maybe I'll just change the engine instead!!

A pair of Renthal grips from Hein Gerike 99p
Yes it was an error but like I was gonna tell him, I'd just spent about 50 quid on other stuff
But that aside my old GSX1100 cost me 1300 quid...was like new with new Harris on it and the bloke let me pay in two instalments over 3 months and garaged it for me in the mean time

the thing was bullet proof took me all over the country and commuted in all weathers surprised loads of crotch rockets all for 1300 quid...cost 135 quid to insure on classic with breakdown and you could fix anything yourself
A bloody bargin if you ask me

My Jawa Outfit, I used to have a car and last year insurance, tax, M.O.T and a new clutch were required to keep it going, now bearing in minbd I only do abouit 2K miles a year in a car, mainly shopping or taking daughter to her Nan's the finances were £265 for insurance, £165 tax, M.O.T £100+ and £600 for new clutch. The Jawa cost £200 to buy, £15 for insurance, £30 for tax, £40 for M.O.T. It's now starting it's second year, it's great fun to ride, I can get £200 worth of shopping in it and the daughter loves riding in it. It even took us to the South Coast for a 2 week camping holiday, with all the gear. It's got to be the best deal I've had in my life

Nothing to do with bikes im afraid but popped into GAP to buy a shirt a couple of weeks after christmas and found they had started a sale a couple of hours earlier. Unfortunatly due to my huge height there wasn't much that fitted me but got a £75 jacket for £15 2 pairs of jeans that should have been £45 each for £7 each and a £15 tshirt for £2.
Got back to the office after work and realised I never brought a shirt

(they weren't in the sale)
