Full Version: That was hard work

Went for a run today (1) up to Braemar via Lochearnhead and Perth and back again to Livingston.  About 250 miles door to door round trip.  It certainly made me realise how out of practice I am as there were parts that I was all over the place, braking when I didn't need to, missing overtakes and generally messing up.  I was sweating buckets by the time I got home (2). Thankfully there was no one around to notice but I definitely need to spend a bit more time on the bike to try and get some of the old rhythm back before I go to Italy in August .

Only came across one dickhead on the way to Lochearnhead determined to pass everyone at any cost.  I was first bike behind a moving queue of cars, he'd worked his way up past at least three other bikes by taking risks and forcing his way back in.  First sign of a straight he decides he's coming past me, as as he pulls out only then does he see the police bike coming the other way (I'd seen it so although there was room to take the next car decided not to) so he decides to pull in again just in front of me forcing me to brake veryangry.gif .  He then gets both the policeman and me shaking our heads at him in astonishment that he tried it.  It's dickheads like this that get us all a bad name.

(1) on the bike of course not actually running as that would have been plain stupid and I wouldn't be here to tell the tale.
(2) maybe its time to take the thermal liner out of my jacket  laughcont.gif

It was a nice day out.  :buttrock: I went out for a run myself. I know what you mean about rusty, hopefully it won't take long to get back into shape. We headed over to Loch Lomond, the over the military road to Arrochar. Up over the rest and be thankful and stopped off at Cairndow for a while.

An excellent few hours away. Pity we didn't have more time or we might have went for Glen Coe. Still, its good to see the summer has arrived at last.  :buttrock:

Aye well and truly and running like a peach, just a pity about the rider at the moment.

Nearly went over by your route Dave just decided to turn right at Lochearnhead instead of left and on to Oban as I thought it might be quieter.  Maybe Oban next week if the weather holds eyebrow.gif .  Grass is never going to get cut at this rate  :laughcont: .

You probably made the right decision. The traffic was quite heavy. Loads of cars and bikes out enjoying the good weather.
