The bloody bikes at it again.
Coming back from plugs today it wouldn't hold idle just kept cutting out at junctions, lights etc incovenient, embarrasing and downright fecking dangerous when you've got 40 odd feet of scania bearing down on you.

and the starter is very reluctant too once it gets hot.
yank out the choke and off we go!

If i'm going to richmond or where the hell ever i'll need to get this sorted PDQ

anyone got any clues?

I had a bike that did something similar but in my case, it was the wrong grade of sparkplug. The bike would over heat after running for a while , then start to run like a dog.

Have you looked a the spark plug and compared it to one of them charts in the manuals. It could be that your carburation is screwed up, after messing about with it last week. It might be running too rich or too lean.

I'm gonna do the valve clearences tomorrow and pull both plugs to have a look see whats going on inside ther's deffinately a bit of a backfire at low revs.
Had an rd 350 used to do that and it was the plug failing under compression.
I'll also check all the electrics while i've got the tank off.
looks like it's gonna be a greasy day for me ho hum joys of owning a classic.
Still fancying one bd?
