For anyone in the vicinity of scarborough in late june these are the dates for the cock 'o' the north road races 19th  20th 21st and 22nd guaranteed a great weekends racing .

on top of this a ride through Dolby forest is in order
culminating in a stop at Thornton-le-dale which will be bike mecca for the weekend.

I thought road racing was banned on the UK mainland and that that is why the IOM became such a big event?

looking at advertisements the races appear to be held at olivers mount matey.

It's the nearest we've got to public road racing, and it's absolutely mental. I could never understand Sheene riding there yet slagging the TT.

ive got a couple of slides from when i was a kid at olivers standing back to back with Barry and  his famous no.7 bike. there was some one killed there that weekend on a side car,
i think it was early 1980ish.

apparently they're dedicating part of the circuit to sheene in september for bike week.
as far as i know Olivers mount is the only place in the country where they close the road for racing and ff is bang right it's mental racing especially along the back straight where there's a huge hump in the road the riders hit this thing doing about 90-95mph huge whelies and jumps abound.
I once saw jim whitam stuff it up major style there on a gsxr 750.
