I think bd's viffer problem is catching!
Started the bike outside work tonight and it's running rough as hell, feels like only one cyl is fireing then it surges off down the street then back to coughing and spluttering.
Petrol pouring out of one of the carbs!!
Gave it a big fistful ( mainly out of frustration ) and it backfires once then runs sweet as a nut all the way home.
Any clues before i set about it with the spanners?

I think if the petrol is pouring out of the carb, it means the float is stuck.

COme peeps really need help now give us a clue where to start looking.
Heres the symptoms.
Cold start full choke feels like it's running on one cylinder,
blip the throttle and the second cylinder starts to fire and the  revs rise nicely.
warm up the bike, choke in, and it won't run below 1500 revs it just cuts out, small popping noises from the exhaust get it in the power band and it runs fine any clues? any at all?
I don't wanna start ripping bits off without knowing what i'm looking for.

Rick, did you check the floats. Its is very similar to the problems I had but I did have the petrol pouring out. I still think it could be a float that is jammed.

wellllllllll wd40 what a product.
Thought i'd go out and have a fart about with the bike for a bit.
cranks her up full choke popping ,farting and carrying on ensues.
blip the throttle problem solved second pot starts to fire.
Goes to push the choke in and i got a belt off the carb body.
Turns out there's voltage tracking, "the whole bloody engines live" it would seem water has got inside the plug cap and is causing the spark to track down the plug insulator body and onto the engine.
When i had a close listen (do not put lug hole on engine here) I could here it ticking, wd40 it, problem solved.
I'm going down to maplins this weekend for some hv heat shrink tubing just in case it's the ht leads.

Ima regarding the tracking?

If your stuck for a replacement ..speak nicely to Suki and ask her for the loan of some nail varnish OR hair spray then coat the crack  where its tracking from, better than wd 40 another o'l injun trick from plug
