Following my recent spill in which i cracked the casing on mi clocks (still working tho) i reckon its a good enough excuse to replace them with something more aesthetically pleasing! ive looked around on t'internet but all i could find was the motogadget motoscope light, which looks nice but is around £300 nicker if i have the instrument panel with it!

Does anyone know of any other companies that offer similair products at a lower price?

Also i am uncertain whether it is possible to replace the clocks as they can be used to change the fuel/air mixture and so may be an integral part of the fuel management system. hopefully i may be able to isolate this function and put it in a separate unit maybe? Does anyone have any experience of this?

If any FZ6 owners have already done this to their bike id like to hear from them

thnx

I found replacing clocks a huge pain in the rectum. I smashed my tacho in an off. I had to spend over £100 and buy the whole dash instead of one clock sad1.gif

does anyone have experience of changing the clocks? i know some people on this forum have undertaken streetfighter projects, someone must have some in depth knowledge of what it entails!

ive checked out the functions of my standard clocks and there is a function to alter the exhaust gas volume. i am guessing that i would loose this funtion if i replaced the items, so i would keep the originals in case i ever decided to fit an aftermarket exhaust system. im just not sure if the clocks are a heavily integrated part of the electrical system, i'll have to get on to yamaha directly i think to find out!

im also thinking of changing the top yoke so that i can mount the key'ole somewhere else and place the clocks centrally instead of the stupid offset position they're currently in.

im not sure whether to change the headlight cuz i think they look pretty cool as they are. im gonna put some funky bars on and bellypan/pillion seat cowling. also im thinkin it would look dead funky with an R1 swinging arm on it as it would flow more with the lines of the bike! might be able to get one cheap from ebay!
