i'm wanting to make my own chain guard for the gs seeing as how the original came off in about 4 bits when i put the new chain on, but i'm unsure about any legal requirements that may be tagged on to such a project.
so are there any points i need to consider before i step outside armed with angle grinder and router?
I've got hold of a suitable piece of box section ally (actually an old screen form work).
Any comments/suggestion graciously received. bowdown.gif

tc might know more  but as far as legal requirements.

for a MOT you dont need one

but if u get stoped without one u could get nicked!
as far as what the guard looks like i dont think it matters that much. after all many huggers come with a built in plastic guard to replace your original

as long as the chain is "reasonably" covered along the top you should have no probs if mr plod pulls you over

EB, I've heard of the "wheel arch" rule but... does that really apply to the chain? Why would that be then Oo1.gif
