I was just wondering, if a bike is described as "just had it's carbs serviced"...what does that mean exactly? What would have been done?

My mate told told me to check out with the seller whether there had been recent valve checks and a cam-belt change. Would this have been done?

I'm asking here first because, well many of you already know what a complete flump I am with all this stuff...so let's just keep it in the family eh zipped.gif Then I can contact the seller and sound like I know what I'm talking about rofl.gif :w@nker:

A carb service would not envolve valves or cam belts being checked..

And the term Carb service could cover a wide variety of sins from doing nothing to completley stripping them clean replace worn parts and rebuild Oo1.gif

I would ask what the problem was that they needed to be looked at to start with and has it been cured wink1.gif

Might be that they just ballanced the carbs?

I expect at the most the carbs have been cleaned, re balanced and the mixture set, but it could mean that someone has just sprayed them with carb cleaner. It's not something that you would normally put in an advert as it can lead you to the assumption the the bike was not running properly. It's not usually needed unless the bike has seen some serious mileage.
