The engine on the 400 is looking a bit tatty and I was hoping someone would be able to advise on a good way to clean it, preferably without stripping it down. Also looking for an easily available metal polishing kit (such as drill attachments) if anyone has any recommendations
Thanks in advance
Chris

Custom Fasteners supply all the mops and polish you could want, they sell kits or individual bits you can get a catalogue on 01686 629666 worth a look anyway, not sure on the comparason with prices etc but I've always had good service from them beer.gif

The best way is to steam clean it, if not that use a hot water pressure washer, either wiull remove all grease and dirt etc and can infact strip off the engine paint. However polishing a 400/4 is a never ending job, to be honest, clean and re paint, the casings can be cleaned up but if you are going to use the bike I would advise against highly polishing engine parts, the dull aluminium look maintains its appearance for a lot longer with only minor maintenance.

Grubby is GOOD buttrock.gif The worse I look, the more Mrs 955 thinks I've done and the less housework I get collared for!! I get to play with bikes, the cooking & cleaning gets done, everybody wins eyebrow.gif
P.S. She doesn't come on here without me knowing, right....RIGHT (uh oh) sniffle.gif
