Well I'll have the new FJR on Tuesday as planned but apparently Yamaha havne't got any panniers painted and it'll be another 7-8 weeks no.gif  despite the dealer asking whether they were in stock when they were ordered and being told yes.

Anyone else had backlogs with Yamaha parts/accessories (this is my first Yam so have no experience of them)?

Bad luck Ian, just as well you didn't have a trip planned or else you would have been snookered. I've only ever bought one Yamaha and it was a dog. But I think that was more to do with the dealer being a car dealership and just playing at selling bikes, rather than being the fault of Yamaha.

I remember someone on RiderSite had problems with spare parts from Yamaha when his bike was being repaired after a crash - he got in touch with Yamaha direct in the end, and it became one of those cases where the dealer says the delay is at the Yamaha end, and Yamaha says its the dealer's fault.  It still took ages to get the part tho - think it was a tank, if I remember rightly.

Of course with your panniers, it may well be true that they were in stock - just not painted!

Yaaay the FJR comes home tomorrow! grin.gif

Called in at the dealers today to drop off the luggage and seat hump for the Viffer and sort out the paperwork.  I go back mid morning tomorrow to pick it up. grin.gif   Panniers still not in but they now say will probably be next weekend so no great problem.

So if you see a big silver Yam wobbling slowly and stearing clear of Italian bus drivers in Edinburgh then it'll probably me! grin.gif

Oh forgot to say, the estimate for fixing the Viffer....

£3000!
